One NFL GM told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that no QB is rising faster than Fresno State senior Derek Carr.

Is there any reason why Saban would want to go to Texas? Or is this just Texas fans feeling entitled?

Is there any reason why Saban would want to go to Texas? A whole bunch of money, and the opportunity to say he won National Titles with 3 different schools.

Is there any reason why Saban would want to go to Texas? A whole bunch of money, and the opportunity to say he won National Titles with 3 different schools. That is true, but the last reason can applied to any other school in the NCAA. So the odds of him going are simply because of money. If Texas can pull it off, that would be impressive. But it would make me hate them more. While I support all Big 12 brethren before other conferences...it is hard to support to Texas.

While I support all Big 12 brethren before other conferences...it is hard to support to Texas. As an Oklahoma fan I agree with you that it would make me hate Texas even more. But it is all about the money, also that Saban would be going to a pretty freaking good program. Texas is established, so Saban wouldn't have to worry about trying this with a let's say Virginia. Texas' big problem the last few years has been a lack of recruiting. Saban doesn't lack recruiting skills.

Texas's endowment is much bigger than Alabama's, and I'm pretty sure their sports endowment is as well, which is why him jumping to Texas is pretty believable. Granted, it's only the second largest in that state (A&M's is bigger), but combine that with the general prestige of Texas and you've got a believable story.

I've also heard that one drawback would be the less power he would have over the program, than that he currently has at Alabama. Any truth to that? I'm not real familiar with how Texas works.

If Saban goes to Texas every top level Texas high school player will want to go there, couple that with Saban probably still having his pick of 4 and 5 star recruits from his usual pipeline and Texas could be a force.

Apparently HornSports is reporting/saying that Saban to Texas is a done deal. I know nothing about the site or its reputation, I'm just passing along with I've heard/read.

Wait, if Saban goes to Texas, he gets 10 years, $100 million?! Along with 1% of the Longhorn Network (which is supposedly worth a lot), yes, that's the rumored offer.

Sorry to be a bit late to the party, but it confuses me why my school (Toledo) didn't get into a bowl game where Ohio, a team with the same overall and worse in-conference record (Toledo 5-3, Ohio 4-4), got into one. Is it because of Toledo's last game, a loss to Akron, or was it outside forces?

I know in the Big Ten that as long as the records are within a game or so of each other, the bowls can pass over whomever they want. No 6-6 teams over 7-5 teams though.

Probably the bowl researched and figured Ohio was more attractive in terms of ticket sales and tv rating compared to Toledo.
