My bowl lock is UNLV +7 against North Texas. I think that is a huge line and that UNLV will probably win outright. I need to get to one of the casinos and get some $ down on that.

The stadium is miles away from the Strip. I've been to the Little Caesar's,Alamo,Sun,Outback,Rose, and Sugar bowls. San Antonio is a great setting for a bowl.

I wonder who is on that list for the Texas job. Have to think Briles near the top if Washington doesn't try to hook him up with RG3. Kliff Kingsbury could be a sneaky pick.

As for the Heisman it's kind of surreal to see Barry Sanders there and know that Winston was 4 or so when Barry retired.

Hey look they're showing a video package for the guy that desperately wanted to go to Texas, but Mack Brown didn't recruit him. Throw in Luck, RG3, and Manziel on the "coulda been" list and you see why Brown had to "step-down".

RGIII was going to go to Houston, but when Briles left Houston for Baylor, RGIII went with him. As an Oklahoma fan, I'm glad Luck, Manziel, and Jameis didn't go to Texas.

Ya he changed his commitment when Briles changed schools, he's obviously a Briles fan. That doesn't mean Texas couldn't have sold him on being the next Vince Young.

Turns out Tom Brady and Peyton Manning were not recruited by Mack at Texas either!

Whoever it is that gets the UT job, he needs to get and keep recruits. As stated, Brown had some problems with that.

Brown and Texas always got/get recruits. Top class like four or five yrs in a row.
Texas isn't going to hire a jabroni. They are a national brand and wealthy. They need a name, a star a former champion and they want him young. They will get a star. It's Texas

Brown and Texas always got/get recruits. Top class like four or five yrs in a row. That relies on Rivals really having a clue on as many players as they do, and to be honest, I doubt they really do. They probably vet the top guys, but beyond that, much less so. I think the overall lack in quality play the past few years is evidence that they're either not recruiting well or not developing the players they do. Passing on Manziel and Winston makes me think the former.

Rich Ellerson is out at Army. Idk if Army could ever be good again. Navy gets athletes, Army gets a lot of fat guys. I'm beginning to wonder how long til it falls to the FCS level for military academies, like The Citadel.
