On a scale of October 2012 Ryback - December 2013 Ryback, which functions as a steady, linear decline from WHITE HOT to apathy-inducing as time advances, I'd rate Bryan a solid January 2013, maybe even a December 2012.

My only concern is whether he is over for the right reason or over for the sake of being over. Are people chanting his name because there's a desire to see him as the top guy or because chanting his name is something people do. Like nobody dances to Fandango's music because they think it's a great track, it's just a fun audience participation thing. For example if I went to a WWE event I'd likely chant his name because that would be fun to join in with but I'm not exactly his biggest fan.
Once the trigger is pulled on Bryan, fully, I'll guess we'll find out. But the crowd reactions put him Austin/Hogan level over and I can't help but be suspicious of that. Maybe he is THAT over but IMO it's a mixture of being over and the crowd enjoying the part they play in the shows by chanting his name and catchphrases.
No doubt he is over and deserves a WWE title run and probably WM main event spot but I do think the reactions are a little misleading.

D-bry over? Your damn right he's over. I just wish he'd move past the stupid YES! NO! Stuff and the arm movements to match said chant. He's kinda like the Terminator right now with the YES! thing. Its what he does...ITS ALL HE DOES! No remorse or pity and he WILL NOT STOP...until you chant to. I think the YES!! is fine. What he needs to move past (or the company needs to move past) is the GoatFace stuff. WWE tries way too hard to portray Bryan as the "anti-WWE Guy" when we all know that Bryan Danielson is a "sports entertainer" and he's handsome guy with a great physique and the "superstar look". I think he should just get a haircut and trim that beard.

Bryan is more over than cena and anyone in the roster, and I really think that is more than a mere "people love to chant things" at least lots of guys in this last years had chants going but still couldn't reach the connection that bryan gets.
That being said, they can't push him to the top yet, has to be gradual, since he will not draw ratings just for his overness (Cena is still more "over in a wider spectre") He is being built to be the guy though, I really wonder how people would had reacted here when they knew that austin wasn't even in the PPV post KOTR or not winning the title at the first wrestlemania after that, he is going to be there, chill out

Side note goats have goatees not beards, hence GOAT-ee. Just saying. Also your Sig is all kinds of awesome.

He gradually got over through his feud with Bret Hart more than anything.

I'm not sure fans reactions yet translate into actual popularity with the wider audience.

D-Bry is over. But, this past Monday's RAW is a terrible litmus test, because it was a "hometown" appearance. He gets the crowd involved which is huge. However, I still think Cena & Punk are more over than D-Bry. Sure, if this was the only time a crowd ever chanted Daniel Bryan over a main event angle, sure. But that's been happening every week since Survivor Series. And, it's happened pretty much every week for years for Cena & Punk. Let's check back in on D-Bry after Mania, and see if he continues to garner the same reaction everywhere from now until then.

He's over. His chant is ridiculously over. He has the audience participation thing down, let's see if he can really sell some merch and pop a buyrate.

I would never put him on Rock ,Austin , Hogan levels...especially the later 2 thats holy grail overness and bryan has not reached that IMO.
He is over...damn over but the question lingers can he sustain it? will be just as over a year from now? 2yrs from now? thats how I am looking at it.

He's CM Punk levels of over. Punk sells a shitload more t-shirts than Bryan and gets louder pops during his entrance. If he had a chant too it wouldn't even be close.

Looking at televised audiences, I also see a lot more Punk shirts than Bryan shirts in the audience.

Not really sure if that's an accurate list, given that the Curtis Axel shirt is listed as the second highest seller for me.

He's over, but unless people start chanting "LET'S GO DANIEL BRYAN YOU'RE THE BEST WRESTLER IN THE WORLD AND YOU'RE IN WAY BETTER SHAPE THAN RANDY ORTON", I don't think WWE will get the message.
Oh, and I went on WWEShop and all of the best sellers are the things that are on sale. I'll be honest though, if somebody got me a Curtis Axel t-shirt I'd kick them in the balls.

Everyone with ears can tell how much more over Axel is than Punk.

Its a current best seller list, it gets updated at least weekly. Punk is always near the top, I can remember Bryan up there the week when his "Respect The Beard" shirt came out.
