I liked Del Rio throughout 2010 and 2011. His never-ending feud with Sheamus damaged him badly. Then the face turn recovered him somewhat and it seemed like the fans were behind him (other than the Raw after Mania)....only for him to turn heel again and have a dreadful meaningless 5-month WHC reign that devalued the belt so bad that they're retiring it at a B-PPV.
Overall, I'd say WWE is more to blame than anyone. Same with what happened with Jack Swagger and The Miz. At one point they were getting heat but WWE booked them into the ground and they never really recovered.

Is Del Rio the most un-over multiple time World Champion in WWE history? I'm having trouble thinking of a champ who was less over. Swagger maybe? He wasn't a multiple time champ but even he had the benefit of the seagull pop.

He should've been built in the midcard, then elevated slowly. They pushed him too fast and too hard and just. KEPT. PUSHING. HIM. He's this constant main event fixture with no real reason for being there aside from the company wanting him there.

Electrify every seat in the arena and shock the audience when he comes out. The cameras will show everyone in the crowd standing up when he comes out.

Sure they killed Swagger heat to a point it reached Del Rio level.

Looking through the list of champions, the only person I can see might have a shot is Khali but I literally can't remember his reign or championship win either.

It's gonna get to the point where I just wanna see how he can kill a crowd after big moments. He's like a crowd reset button when the fans get too hype.
He's the human tea kettle settler machine.
