I think they are eventually going to swerve us and reveal that Abyss has actually been Joseph Park the whole time (instead of the other way around), and this will lead to a heel turn on Eric Young where Park has been manipulating everyone for 10 years somehow.

TNA kept the character around so long that I was begging for Abyss to return so they can end the angle already. All the goodwill he built up disappeared as the story kept dragging on and on. TNA has a problem about getting to the point. Long angles are fine if their is development to keep it fresh and moving. Park just stopped looking for Abyss and became a regular goof. 18 months to get to this point. Jesus Christ TNA. Russo would had resolved this in 1 month. And revealed Abyss as Dixie Carter's secret love child by Scott Hall and Joseph Parks as Abyss' attempt to live the life of his twin brother who died during childbirth.

Considering that Chris/Joseph Parks actually IS Abyss as well the only feasible solution is that Park has to be Abyss. There really isn't any other acceptable outcome. Once I saw "Abyss" help Park in a match though I was baffled as to where this is going because that eliminates the possibility of the obvious schizo personality. Or are we to believe Joseph Park paid some schmuck off to appear as Abyss? And if he's a nut with a dual personality, how could he even put together such a scheme?
Unless TNA is going to put someone else under the Abyss mask (which would be way obvious to anyone), this is a storyline bind. TNA has firmly established that Park and Abyss are two different men in storyline, which ruins the entire angle.

If they had made this reveal a year ago it might have worked. Dragging this out 18 months just for this to be the big reveal, well there was just no way for any good to come from that.

Well, to be fair, the deal was everyone knew he was Abyss, but it's Joseph Park who doesn't know it was Abyss. I guess that's why the commentators didn't help things. EY, Daniels and Kazarian all knew the truth, but basically wanted Park to come to that conclusion himself in their own ways. EY wanted to prove it to him by bloodying him up and telling him, and Bad Influence believing that Park knew and was being deceitful. Even Sting knew months ago, when he requested to tag with Park and would have hoped Abyss showed up. Sting I guess hoped that maybe Abyss could be more easily brought out of Joseph Park, and maybe felt Park knew he was Abyss.
Even the crowd wasn't shocked, but I think that's what I like about this angle here. It's not that him being Abyss was this big secret. The logic of the storyline comes in Joseph Park not knowing he's Abyss, and how basically Abyss is suffering from Dissociative identity disorder, which in and of itself is a fascinating illness. One thing with the Abyss character is we know about his past with James Mitchell, and while that was really corny at the time (though Mitchell cut a convincing promo despite how corny it is), it makes sense that this would happen to Park. One thing I would be interested in is if Joseph Park existed while Abyss wrestled in TNA for years, and him potentially giving examples to EY in future weeks to try and prove that he's not actually Abyss, look at all this stuff he did.

Or maybe it was all just poorly planned to begin with... Well, that could be the deal where Joseph Park was helped by Abyss in that one match. But, one thing they could do to call back to their past and make things seem important now and for the future, is with EY trying to convince Joseph Park he's Abyss, and Park says, well, if that's the case, how come Abyss helped me out in this match. And I guess they could figure a way out of that, and bring somebody in that was told to help Park, I think it was against Bully Ray during that match, and Bully certainly has his share of enemies. Sadly, Hogan isn't around, but basically it can be said that Hogan paid off some guy or something. There are ways out of it to try and fit things together. The Abyss angle could be like the Zelda Timeline in that case. I guess another part I like about it is the real life instances of this, where you have this evil, psychotic professional wrestler, and this shy, unathletic lawyer. So I really loved little touches like say, when Park first started wrestling, he didn't know how to run the ropes, he didn't hold a chair like a regular wrestler would, etc. He pretended to be somebody who knew very little about wrestling and didn't know how to do anything, and pulled it off convincingly. And that should be a credit to the performer, as at this point, habit is going to kick in with wrestling, and he has to relearn how to not know how to do the thing he makes a living at and make it look like he's not trying to be bad. It's like, he studied Kelly Kelly tapes to take notes. I also lost my train of thought and went off. The real life instances are people who one personality can be completely different from another, and not the real life instance of a psychotic pro wrestler and a shy lawyer.

I think you're confused, Joseph Park is actually Abyss' brother. They are two different people, Eric Young and Bad Influence don't know what they're talking about. you'd think Daniels of all people would sympathize with Park after all those times people falsely claimed he was Suicide

You just knew they would eventually do this and it makes absolutely no sense. TNA blew this storyline by having Abyss show up and help Joseph Park win matches. How can we explain a guy with dual personalities when the other persona has actually appeared around him on TV? How did Mankind do that interview with Cactus Jack and Dude Love on screen at the same time?

I thought they had lots of promise with him, especially when he was taking wrestling classes. They dropped the ball big time by not progressing the character.
His character was interesting. It was way different than abyss, and way better imo. I wouldn't have guessed it was abyss if they had randomly put him in a story-line that didn't involve abyss.

Mankind, Dude Love, and Cactus Jack were never actually in the ring at the same time. They did that gimmicky video package which could be post produced, but the difference is that we the audience knew Foley was all 3. It's not like someone with a Mankind mask did a run in to help Cactus Jack win matches.

I wish Scott Steiner never blew the whole thing by announcing it on Twitter when it first started. I probably would've caught on eventually but didn't know they were the same person at first. The thing is, I don't think Steiner realised that until that point, noone had seen Abyss unmasked. I assume that he walked around backstage maskless for years (hell, I've seen him walking around backstage maskless at the old Impact Zone) so Steiner was like "oh we all know what Chris looks like, stop trying to fool us"

Wait you mean to tell me that people actually didn't know that Joseph Park was Abyss until Steiner said something about it?

I knew it was Abyss but I didnt care because I suspend disbelief when I watch wrestling.
They are tying up all the loose ends of the Hogan/Bischoff disaster and honestly, I enjoyed this earlier but not as much later. It was better than the Hall of Fame ring business, thats for sure.

I thought we all knew that Abyss was Joseph Park's BROTHER.
Jeez, next thing you're gonna tell me is that Christopher Daniels is Curry Man.
Or Sami Zayn is El Generico.
Or Colt Cabana is Matt Classic.
Or Hulk Hogan is Mr. America.
