For some reason, I've been trying to rack my brain to thinking what was the longest continuing story line in wrestling. Not really feuds because those could stop and start many times for years, and have different stories to them each time. I have an idea to one, but I need to try and put it together. lol. But I was wondering what you guys thought.

Excluding gimmicks like Undertaker's streak, probably NWO of modern day big name wrestling. That or perhaps Paul Bearer/Kane/Undertaker if you count it.

Does the Bruderschaft des Kreuzes angle in Chikara count?

Failing the story arc that was the Kings of Wrestling to the CHIKARA Special to the BDK in CHIKARA, I'd argue Raven vs. Dreamer is up there and so is the story arc of Jimmy Jacobs.

the nWo angle ran for years.
Match wise AJ Styles vs Chris Daniels...they just kept going...and going...and going for almost 2 years.

The tension between Santana and Martel. Even after the feud was an afterthought, they'd still go after each other in Royal Rumbles.

Randy Savage and Elizabeth's continuing relationship, ran from 1985-1992, 1996-1998 overall. Over 10 years pretty much.

Bob Orton's cast, which, unless I'm wrong, is probably still going.

I was going to bring up the Kings of Wrestling in CHIKARA which is pretty much the cause of every problem CHIKARA ever had.

Bob Orton's cast, which, unless I'm wrong, is probably still going. Actually, by the time I was watching, mid 1986, he no longer wrestled with the cast. I think it's a bit of revisionist history that he ALWAYS used it after 1985. Or they are thinking of Iron Mike Sharpe.

Austin vs Vince? I cant remember if they were on good terms or bad terms (on screen) the last time they appeared together, but either way it has been long running since 1997.

I'd say Undertaker/Kane. They had several feuds over the course of like 13 years. They had a lot of tag runs too. Basically, they never interacted without their storyline being a focal point.

Pete Rose and Kane. Too bad it ended after 2000. It had potential to go every year.

The Young Bucks and PWG ref Rick Knox have had an on/off mini-feud dating back to 2009. He's cost them title matches and everything, and even wrestled them once teaming with Steen & Generico.
