Two polarizing figures in pop culture that have constantly been compared to one another. But of the two, which one has more redeemable qualities?

"Redeemable" qualities? I didn't know they were awful people.
Gaga's admitted she's pretty Madonna influenced, but she has a noticeably stronger singing voice, so her by a nose.

Gaga, because her stage name is inspired from a Queen song.

Redeemable? Odd way to look at it. Well, I guess Gaga may have proved to be a decent beacon for the GLBT section of the community, even if it does seem to be a message that is not necessarily the best: Be yourself, no matter how obnoxious or douchey it may be. And it may be entirely driven by profits... but she seems more genuine than the similarly messaged but infinitely more blatant cash seeking of Katy Perry.
On the other hand, Madonna has seemed only concerned with keeping Madonna relevant over the years, and is just awful as a performer outside of somehow cultivating pseudo bisexuality into a profitable gimmick for 30 years.
So Gaga is more redeemable.

Now to be honest, Madonna by a country mile. This is woman who's had to deal with loosing her mother at the age of five and having to raise her seven other siblings, being raped shortly after moving to New York at the age of 19, and her abusive marriage to Sean Penn which lead her being put the hospital all the while trying to go after her dream.

She has had more hardships, probably, true, but she has also f***ed up way more than Gaga has, if we are being honest. Tons of plagiarism accusations and lawsuits have been thrown at her, so she was kind of hypocritical to claim Born This Way was cribbing from her. Also, it was pretty irresponsible of her to say not to use a condom if she is with someone and just kind of says f*** it, but that's her private life, I guess. That said, I do like both, and do respect both as artists, but I am explaining why I voted Gaga.

Hard to say as I really like Both but I'd have to give the edge to Madonna.

Fine by me, but as a hardcore fan of both and really learning more about them, I still lean toward Madonna as person. To quickly explain the type of person Madonna is, she's someone that puts on a facade of being a total bitch when she's quite sensitive. She comes off a bitch for two reasons: one, to appear as a strong woman despite all she's been through. Two, she's very emotionally-driven, so she might want to do something good like charity, but go about it very demanding, militant-way if that make sense. Like currently, she's started this Art For Freedom thing and the video she made for it can explain what I mean by being demanding. Madonna is simply someone that is kinda misunderstood and a lot of the stuff does has some reason behind instead of shock, though early 90s Madonna is questionable because she more came off as someone being completely messed up from an abusive marriage than anything else.

Also, people need to stop comparing them because once you break down everything, you see how different they are.

Also, people need to stop comparing them because once you break down everything, you see how different they are. They are different, but not that different. They are like comparing apples to green apples. Super they look and taste different, but they are still apples. You can fairly compare any female pop singers amongst each other. The thing that is often missing is also doing the contrasting.

I'm not saying they're polar opposite as the main reasons they get compared is how both rose to fame the same way and after they did, they both stood out due to how they dressed. Once you move on to their music and personalities, you notice how different they are.

I would bang Lady Gaga so, so hard. Therefore, she wins.
