Just finished watching Smackdown and I'm genuinely surprised at how competitive and closely fought the Cena/Rollins match was. I expected a five minute average affair, but there were times I thought Rollins might actually win it.
The Shield are obviously great and all three are great but I'd say this is the first time Rollins shined the absolute brightest, and Cole and JBL praised him to the moon as well.
Great to see.

Rollins was f***ing phenomenal in that match and credit should go to Cena for keeping up with someone more nimble than him, I'm not going to lie I thought Rollins had Cena beat after the flying knee, credit goes to both of them.

That's how it's always been. Ambrose is the mouthpiece, Reigns is the muscle, Rollins is the workhorse. He did look great out there.

Ever since watching that Legends Of Mid-South DVD, I picture Jim Duggan using his analogy of the Rat Pack to describe the Shield.
"DiBiase (Ambrose) is the brains, I (Reigns) was the brawn, and Matt Borne (Rollins)...was the jerk of the group."
But Rollins showed he was more than a mouthy jerk. He brought it last night.

yeah that match might have just made Rollins my favorite Shield member now.

I didn't see the show, but I've never been on board with the whole "Rollins will flounder without The Shield" mindset. He's improved a ton from his Tyler Black days, & I see nothing that's says he'll suddenly stall out, or even regress. Not sure he'll ever be WWE champion, but he will be a main eventer IMO.

Rollins definitely had the best matches with Bryan out of all Shield members also.

There's a definite Freebirds dynamic with this group.

I loved the match! I think both men played their part well.
I would have liked him to not use the top rope knee because thats his finisher in alot of situations.
Ultimately Cena played a punch bag for 20 minutes, then hit 2 moves and won which ruins it slightly.
However what I'd like them todo is lead it up to a big 4 PPV match where Rollins goes over clean, next Summerslam?

That match was great and Rollins looked amazing. The spot when Rollins is holding the top rope after avoiding the AA attempt and then springs onto his feet like a ninja was fantastic. I really hope for big things for Rollins in 2014 after this performance.

They really made him look great.
For all the WWE's screw ups, they've made the Shield into absolute stars. It's really amazing to see how they keep that going. Booking three guys solidly, making them look like forces to be reckoned with, and people get behind them--who knew?

It just proves there is not a single weak link in that whole stable. Ambrose looked good in his short match with Big E, Roman was amazing against Henry that Samoan Drop was impressive and Rollins was just beyond amazing

He's got a better look than Ambrose. Seems like he has something similar to a younger CM Punk were he looks like someone who could equally play a douche or a underdog face.

Again, if Rollins is the least pushed of the three men once the Shield disbands...that will be a massive crime. This is the one they should strap the rocket to.

I hope they strap a rocket to both Reigns and Rollins, like they did with Rock and HHH. When Shield breaks up I'd like to see them on opposite sides and have the same kind of rivalry.
