Only one I can think of that hasn't been mentioned is Vicar of Dibley.

Only one I can think of that hasn't been mentioned is Vicar of Dibley. Yes also quite good...I LOVE the first Christmas episode. Alice's mom steals the show. My other favorites... - Ab Fab (but primarily anything BEFORE Last Shout. It just doesn't seem the same from 1996 on. BTW did I mention I met Joanna Lumley?) - Coupling (Tip 1: don't accidentally open an NBC version episode. Tip 2: Stick with the first 3 seasons, though even with the lack of Jeff, S4 is decent and has Steve's line essentially burying NBC...) - Brittas Empire (I know everyone knows Chris Barrie for being Rimmer, but this is an underrated gem of a show) - Worst Week of my Life (kind of a one-joke show; i.e. Howard offers to help with something and ends up screwing up everything beyond repair. Rinse, repeat. But still entertaining, AND it has my Sarah Alexander in it too) - Mongrels (a more recent show, think Family Guy meets puppet animals...though that might turn off some people...) - Fawlty Towers - Mr. Bean - Blackadder series - Are You Being Served? (But please, please, PLEASE stop before Trevor Bannister leaves...) - Keeping Up Appearances (I used to have a crush on the second and longer-used Rose...then I found out she was A) older and B) dead)

While it's not a sitcom, Brass Eye is one of the finest british comedies of the last 20 years. Most things by or involving Chris Morris, actually.
On a related note, nice to see I'm Alan partridge get a mention. I think series 1 was vastly superior to 2, if only for this moment:

Can't really add anything new really but my favourite is easily Blackadder with Father Ted close behind. I've only just started to get into the IT Crowd and it's fantastic.

Are you being served-This is the show that got me into UK sitcoms. The Young Ones-Still one of the funniest shows ever. Filthy Rich and Catflap-Most of the same cast as The young ones. Bottom-The Halloween episode is one of the funniest shows so far. Black Adder-Got the complete series set for $3 and marathoned it in 3 days. A fun and funny trip through history. Ban the Filth-A one season mockumentary. With a bunch of elderly women griping about all the filth being aired on the various BBC channels.
