It's funny how out of touch WWE can be these days in how they assign babyface/heel roles. It's almost like trying to gauge what is or isn't desirable or likeable amongst those who live a frat house. Their world view is so skewed and the perceptions so insanely unrelatable its not even funny. Things that Vince, Stephanie etc. would find to be great traits (likely their own) would repulse 90% of human beings who exist in the real world. That said, someone needs to tell Vince that not every smallish black wrestler has to be a dancing minstrel show or blacksploitation character. Yeah, but you know ain't nobody in the company is going to tell him that. Call me cynical. But nah, seriously. People are projecting so much hate onto this dude, It's starting to be kinda funny.

He's not really doing anything different than what he did in NXT. That said, he never really had a storyline down there. He was always just a fill-in face whenever a guy or a team that was in a feud needed a partner. So, personally, I'd point fingers at WWE's writing making him look like a tool more than Woods himself.

It's a fustercluck that would sink a pay-per-view if it were any higher on the card. What does that even mean? Spooner-free translation: it's a clusterf*** that would kill a pay-per-view's gate, buyrate and merch sales if the angle were any nearer to the main event than it is. It's a perfect example, in fact, of how Creative's getting the undercard wrong. Xavier Woods is not a sympathetic face; Brodus is perfectly justified in his anger (kayfabe speaking here.)Now, if Xavier Woods were booked as a Honky Tonk Man-type character (initially presented as a face, but turned heel based on crowd reaction to him), garnering more heat even while climbing the ranks, while R-Truth and the Funkadactyls become disillusioned with his ways, it might be possible to save the angle.

They need to bring in Tony Atlas with a grey wig and beard to be the Fred Sanford to Xavier's Lamont.

Since all this stems from that he brought it all on himself.

...I have no knowledge of most sports, let alone American sports sooooon yeah. This means nothing to me. If so, well done WWE for being all international and stuff. Still not egregious an example of the narrow-minded programming as the Swagger/Del Rio feud for freakin' Wrestlemania.

I don't get why Woods is the heel to FAN. Brodus started it. Brodus attacks people after matches. Xavier isn't likable, yeah, but that's nothing to do with his actions in this feud. Some of the posters here would boo a kid who finally managed to stand up to his tormentor. Retaliation has to be immediate, apparently, or else you're a 'dick.'

I still like Xavier. He's good in the ring, decent on the mic and seems like a pretty cool dude outside the ring. EVERYBODY GET FUNKY!

I'd mark if the angle was that Brodus is still a face, he just really can't stand Xavier Woods.

It's really a stupid premise on which to hang a feud or a heel turn, and should at minimum have been a slower burn than it turned out to be. Now, have Xavier Woods be taken under Tons O'Funk's wings, be involved in Freebirds-style tag matches, only for Xavier to start stealing Brodus and Sweet T's thunder (and the Funkadactyls, _and_ the music), to have it culminate in a beatdown on Woods that's stopped only when R-Truth makes the run-in - THERE's a heel turn.

I just think he sucks.
