Why not? Why hasn't Bryan, Punk, or even Cena once made them look like fools? Stone Cold embarrassed Vince all the time, but there was also a balance of Vince being a bastard that made it work. Triple H and Stephanie seemingly never are one-upped by anyone (Punk was doing it in 2011, but they were both faces so it didn't matter). Hell, even Stephanie and HHH were made fools by Austin and The Rock. Why not now? What's wrong with that? Does the storyline have to "develop" first? That didn't work for Daniel Bryan. Why is this the case? Why can't Stephanie or Triple H take a few jabs from CM Punk or John Cena? They've been heels nearly their entire careers. Shouldn't they be used to it? Is it really that big of an ego thing? Go for it in the comments.

We'll probably see the first rumblings of it before Orton loses the championship, then they'll get theirs when he loses. Who gives them their compuppance?

I think at this point, the better question is: Why aren't they portraying HHH and Stephanie as outright heels anymore? At this point, they're basically just two well-meaning but out of touch rich people, as opposed to villains that are justifiably detestable.

They really do need some people ripping on them. Way back when one of my favourite wwe memories was of Y2J burning Stephanie over and over and over. The authority could use a roast or two.

Because Triple H is so smart and funny and cool and brave and sexy and Stephanie is so powerful and rich and sexy.
I just remembered a little earlier that segment back in the summer where Stephanie dressed down AJ verbally and then Kaitlyn came out and Stephanie buried her too saying "Don't ever interrupt me again". Stephanie just draws so much money, you gotta put her over whenever you can.

Don't worry, it will eventually be revealed that Stephanie is having an affair with Brad Maddox. And in a sexy twist, it will be revealed that Triple H is having an affair with Maddox too. It will all lead to Maddox becoming the adopted son of Vince McMahon and gaining full control of the company and somehow Vicki Guerrero gets fired again and becomes the GM of the newly resurrected Tuesday Night Titans.

I don't know, Steph took a lot of verbal abuse over the years from countless wrestlers. I doubt a little more would really bug her, especially since she can veto what she doesn't like. |

I think much of it has to do a jealous protectionism of character that no longer suits the role. Vince was often an evil SOB and also often got made to look ridiculous. That's what worked. You can have pompous figures of authority but in the end or on a regular basis you have to prick that particular balloon. If you don't then there's almost literally no point to it. It's like having a heel no babyface can beat. Boy, doesn't that sound familiar?

The question should be "why hasn't STEPH gotten any comeuppance?" HHH's at least eaten a Knockout Punch and a Move That Beat John Cena, not to mention the bad karma's that's generally followed him as he continues to run with Orton as his golden boy.

They've sort of morphed into slightly disingenuous but reasonable authority figures over the past month. So it's like they're above getting comeuppance, they're just doing what's best for business! They were only being "heels" to keep the WWE Universe from being subjected to Daniel Bryan: WWE Champion.

Triple H has been knocked out and kneed in the face.He's also been shown to be a complete coward when he doesn't have hired goons around him.
The closest we got with Stephanie was D-Bry tossing Orton into her.

Triple H almost never gets his as a heel. Very few times I can remember HHH paying for his misdeeds. I think Batista might be one the few elite members of the club that got even with HHH. I think one of the few people who ever made Stephanie pay for her actions was a face Mr. McMahon and maybe Trish or Lita...I don't know it's been so long ago.
