The first that came to mind to me was Punk joining the New Breed. I'm really hoping this story with Bryan turns out that way, except he uses them to help him win the Rumble.

To be fair, Cena didn't "pretend" to join the Nexus, he lost a match which meant he had to join them. Though, he did try to make the best of it by attempting to destroy them from the inside, only for the Anonymous GM Laptop to stop him in his tracks. |

I could never get over the fact that the Nexus armband only went on Cena's forearm, not up to his shoulder like the rest of Nexus. |
