I watched Zyuranger last year after hearing how much better it was than the American counterpart, which I was already a huge fan of. The word wasn't wrong, because I absolutely loved it. I've been wondering if I should go into Dairanger, but I've heard that it can be pretty corny.

DaiRanger is an absolouteley tremendous season and usually always reccomended by any sentai fan, as for the cornyness it is rather unavoidable as that is alot of what Sentai is with some seasons being much more corny than others.

New Tokkyuger Promos.
I am convinced this has to be a parody season like CarRanger....they do the gawd damn choo choo motion like a child would if one was pretending to be an actual train.

Since I was in the mood for something with vampires, I decided to give Kamen Rider Kiva a shot.
About half way through the series and so far I think it's pretty solid, I like the Gothic imagery used in the design of the riders, the monsters and attacks, I also enjoy how the narrative is split between the 1980's and contemporary Japan in 2008 and most of all I enjoy how the soundtrack is very influenced by rock and classical music.
My only minor gripe is that main Rider can be a bit of a wuss at times and the secondary Rider is a bit of a one note "fighter for justice" to the point of insanity. But I am sure these characters will get some good development in the final 24 episodes.

I remember someone saying it as a joke a few years ago , but with seasons like think a little part of me has to think that they makes these weird season themes just to make it harder to bring to the states. heh

I've been wondering if I should go into Dairanger, but I've heard that it can be pretty corny. Dairanger is fantastic. Yeah it has it's corny moments, most sentai does, but it's also a darker season than Zyuranger with some great villains that were never seen in Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers season 2. One of the Gorma clan got reduced to a monster of the week (Shadam became Mondo the Magician), and the rest of them weren't used, apart from one costume, which surfaced in Wild Force. I recommend Dairanger. I remember someone saying it as a joke a few years ago , but with seasons like think a little part of me has to think that they makes these weird season themes just to make it harder to bring to the states. heh Thats always what I heard was the purpose of Shinkenger in the first place to make it very difficult to adapt into Power Rangers. Admittedly it looked liked Disney were going to pull the plug on producing new Power Rangers (at least as a live-action show) around Jungle Fury/RPM. So maybe they just decided to do an overtly Japanese show because they felt they could. Then Saban Brands bought the show back and as per certain contracts, pretty much had to adapt Shinkenger if they were going to do a new series. Allegedly, Saban and Toei had contracts in place that meant every new Power Rangers season had to come from the next Sentai, no exceptions. So, just as Shinkenger followed Go-Onger, Samurai followed RPM. I wonder if Saban wished they could have skipped Samurai/Shinkenger though. If they had, then Saban's first show back would have been the Goseiger adaptation (which is more PR-friendly, and then Gokaiger would have lined up with the 20th anniversary PERFECTLY.

My next watch in the next month will be watching Jetman for the first time and rewatching SunVulcan again. Only one more season until I reach the MMPR stage.

DaiRanger was very disconnected, from a writing standpoint, with certain writers only writing the episodes about certain characters, with little to none inter story continuity between them.

Saban also wouldn't have had this problem if they didn't decide to make two seasons of Samurai. Any reason why they did that? Was it a contract thing or were the ratings for Samurai so good they decided not to mess with a good thing?

Saban Brands are stuck between two contracts. The one with Toei says they have to adapt the Sentai in order, the one with Nickelodeon says they only get 20 episodes a year, which seems to come with a 5 month hiatus smack dab in the middle.
So, they either spread it out over two years, causing the gap between Sentai and Power Rangers to grow, or squeeze everything into one, adapted 50 episodes into 20.
Pick your poison.

Btw does anyone else want to see a official sub or evening dubbing of Super Sentai? If they wanted they could put it on Hulu or even Neon Alley.

Last fall a few anime and tokusatsu news sites announced that Toei were going to start a pay per month streaming service that would offer their various programs (Kamen Rider, Super Sentai and Anime) to US subscribers, but nothing seemed to have come from that. comicsalliance.com/toei-japan-online-channel-paid-subscription-tokusatsu/

I'm sure if there were well-done official translated versions of Super Sentai available, they would sell. I'd get them if I could. I'm sure most of the fansubbuing groups wouldn't mind packing up if EVERYTHING suddenly became available, especially older shows. Sometimes lack of quality raw files stops them from happening. Yeah, the Toei Channel fell through.

Crunchyroll tried to get some Sentai and Kamen Rider, but they couldn't reach a deal with the various actor agencies.

Crunchyroll tried to get some Sentai and Kamen Rider, but they couldn't reach a deal with the various actor agencies. That's also something I've heard in relation to this. Actors & Agency fees are too high to make it feasible. So some territories that did get Sentai in the past with shows like Jetman, eventually got Power Rangers, because it was cheaper to export than Super Sentai. There are some other instances of internationally-licensed Toku out there. A company called "Generation Kikaida" was able to put out offically-licensed releases of Kikaida (obviously)and Kamen Rider V3. V3's almost $150 for six DVDs though, so it's pricey. Also, South Korea still gets dubbed Sentai. Gokaiger for example, was aired in South Korea as "Power Rangers Captain Force", other Sentai also gets dubbed and retitled "Power Rangers" - bet that upsets some purists...

I am just watched Brave 40 and it got me want to ask you guys do you think any Sentai series handled romance right ?

The 2 that comes to mind that handled it best IMO.
JetMan and TimeRanger
JetMan because you got to see it basically go all the way from a romance to a marriage but of course the ending is bittersweet for a whole other reason of which I wont spoil for those that have never watched it...oh and also because this was a romance that was taking place off screen as well.
TimeRanger because much like its counterpart TimeForce I felt both handled it extremely well in that we know these 2 have fallen for each other but cannot be together due to the whole past and future aspect and that they did not try to shoehorn it in and try to make it work they understood these 2 people are in love but cannot be together so it ends on this bittersweet but understable note.

I thought Jetman both did and didn't.
It was Inoue.

Ah yes Jetman or as like to call it "The Love Triangle" sentai.
I thought Gekiranger had a pretty good romance thing through out the series with the two main antagonists Rio and Mele, even it though it's mostly "Mele: I love you Rio sama!" "Rio: Yeah whatever I'm trying to be the strongest fighter in the world here." But towards the end of the series it goes somewhere.
