So, does Stone Cold briefly feuding with Undertaker at the tail end of 1998 instead of going after The Corporation count as "sidetracking"?

So, does Stone Cold briefly feuding with Undertaker at the tail end of 1998 instead of going after The Corporation count as "sidetracking"? No, because the Undertaker actively cost Austin the WWF title. And then Austin had to beat the Undertaker just to get into the Royal Rumble. The Wyatt Family has not been presented as hurdles that Bryan has to jump over to get back on track. The Wyatt Family has instead been presented as a hole of quicksand from which Bryan cannot escape when many fans want to see him be doing other things.

For me, Austin and Bryan aren't comparable anyway. Austin is arguably the biggest star in the history of wrestling. Daniel Bryan is not that and probably never will be, even if it would be super awesome if he was.

yeah, it's not like Austin ever falsely joined an evil group at the peak of his popularity.... I vividly remember that, Austin joined McMahon and spent the better part of a year and a half in suits and cutting serious promos..... *hmm? I'm being told in my ear piece it lasted less then 15 minutes and Austin tore off the suit and beat down McMahon. CM Punk pulled the bit with the New Breed for a couple weeks

It should be regular Daniel Bryan attire but with a hawaiian shirt added. I don't want Bryan near the Wyatts but damn he would've looked fine in a Hawaiian shirt and his trunks.

So let me get this straight, Daniel changed his name to Wyatt, and then proceeded to get his ass handed to him again?
Yeah, he's SURE working those Wyatts! Getting his ass kicked was all part of the plan.
I can see it now, the fans start chanting for Daniel Wyatt..
Lawler: "Listen to these "let's go Wyatt" chants!!!"

Past The Shields break-up the only other storyline close to the main event level is Cena's lazy rematch clause with Orton that wasn't even advanced on RAW last week. He's been in a continuous storyline for the past 6 months and even a good bit before that, that doesn't happen to most main event performers.

Wyatt attacked him post joining up on Monday. If he keeps fighting them he'll have to endure getting attacked anyway

And as I said, if he were really apart of the Wyatts, why did he face Bray? Makes no sense. Reading back through the thread, yes apparently he wasn't called Wyatt, but it's still absolutely stupid logic to say "hmmm...I'm getting my ass kicked by these guys, so I'll join them, and still get my ass kicked". It doesn't matter who he faces, if he's just going out there and essentially laying down for them, except laying down for them is only about 1,000 times less stupid. This is Warrior trusting Jake the Snake levels of stupidity.

I would have booked Daniel Bryan as being screwed over by the corporation (which should have just been HHH, Orton and SHIELD) in increasingly ludicrously biased and unfair ways, continuously denying him the chance to even get a fair shot at the title, let alone losing title matches or being stripped of the title repeatedly (he shouldn't have won the title at all until the final victory over the corporation).
Then, they'd start to screw over other people too, like Punk and Cena, until eventually, all three guys decide to stand together as a faction. They announce that if the corporation stack the odds against them, then WWE won't be allowed to continue at all, and they start to disrupt things, making life impossible for the corporation. Eventually the corporation agrees to give them what they want. Bryan gets his fair shot against Orton and wins the title. Punk gets HHH and decisively beats him, and Cena gets each SHIELD member one by one, until eventually beating the guy that WWE wants to push (probably Reigns) and the corporation is vanquished.
At that point, WWE could then give Bryan a lengthy reign, and sow the seeds of dissention between Bryan and Cena. Perhaps Cena starts getting jealous that Bryan is becoming so popular, and this could lead to Cena's long overdue heel turn. As I've said before, the heel turn would need to be done right, in order to keep Cena's kid fanbase on his side. Ideally, it would be a rivalry between heel Cena and his fanbase, and face Bryan and his fanbase.

Personally, I don't understand why people have been complaining for years about the lack of interesting storylines, and now that we have something unique in the form of this DBD/Wyatt feud, people are still complaining and saying we should go back to Daniel Bryan vs. Authority....despite the fact we got three months of that already. The interesting storyline should have been Daniel Bryan overcoming the heel establishment and the hand-picked corporate champion, and winning the title, then enjoying a lengthy reign, proving the heels to be wrong by showing that he could indeed be an A+ main event star. In the absence of that outcome, that storyline is unresolved, and it was booked terribly, in a way that legitimised the arguments of the heels, which is completely illogical and detrimental. Bryan and the Wyatts doesn't strike me as interesting, but rather a random tangent, which is sidetracking him from the plotline he should be part of. so interesting just means exactly what always happens until fans turn on him to get new blood in the main. Nothing the heels did legitimized their arguments. THey cheated him out of the title and then stopped booking him in title matches. Steve Austin, The Rock, Mankind, Chris Benoit and Brock Lesnar have all endured that. And it is beyond bizarre to me how people consider the Wyatt's separate from the Authority considering how often they've further the Authority's agenda

I have no idea what you are talking about here.
Practically all these guys eventually overcome the odds and the cheating. Bryan didn't. So yes, their arguments of him not being up to the top level, were proven correct.
The Wyatts and the corporation are distinct from each other. The "Authority" has been HHH, Stephanie, SHIELD, Orton, with Big Show as a lackey. The Wyatts have done nothing in kayfabe terms to assist them in any definable way.

What is interesting about this storyline? Daniel Bryan gives up and gives in, joins the Wyatt's and gets saved by John Cena.
That's how this ends.
You know it, I know it, we all know it.
What's to be excited about? Seriously.

What's to be excited about? Seriously. Yeah, honestly...this sounds like exactly like why Cena would get involved. His little buddy is in danger and he must save him! And while this idea does screw Bryan (something I wouldn't be happy about), I have to admit it at least gives a reason as to why Cena would face Bray at Wrestlemania. But yes, it's absolutely ridiculous and would rather not see that happen.
