Former WCW Hardcore champion: Reno. reno has a huge underground following and you sir should be ashamed to have a machine in your avatar and not have such advanced knowledge. Did you know that George Steele wrestled as Animal Machine once? You probably didn't. My knowledge is advanced enough. I wasn't on the internet during the last days of WCW so I wasn't aware anyone cared. I've never met a Reno fan. Ever. I haven't heard of anything Reno has done since. He's retired and gone. He's never even booked for conventions. Even Outback Jack gets booked for conventions. I see no love for Reno anywhere.

While a fan like myself only wants to meet, or even discuss, guys who had an impact on wrestling, there is a fan base that requests obscure names like Reno for an autograph convention simply because they are a "fresh face" to the scene. A few years ago K & S promotions briefly held conventions on the basis that it would be all of their guests 1st ever convention. I don't remember many of the names but do remember it was a lot of Reno-like names that fans probably hadn't thought of in a long time but IIRC it was a popular show. Horace was a guy that was booked but I think he no-showed. Harris Brothers were also guests.

I was at that convention. Ron Reis, Lodi, and Buck Zumhofe were some of the guys there. I think it was the first appearance for Perry Saturn at an east coast convention as well. Raven was there promoting his comedy club appearances. Conventions shot their load in the mid-2000s. Fans don't want to spend money on the same people over and over. That's why they don't draw anymore. It's hard finding obscure guys that will draw so the promoters try to play it smart and offer a mix of the two. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

I liked Steve Armstrong, Reno, and Burchill. I had his theme song as my ring tone when he was in his pirate gimmick. I'm still mad that gimmick was scrapped so quickly. Iron Mike Sharpe was awesome too, king of the jobbers.

The man is a legend! Brimstone definitely has one massively huge fan... ...himself. Also this... absolutely this. Like Brimstone he is a fan of himself.

I liked Well Dunn when they were Rex King and Steve Doll. Underrated tag team with a stupid gimmick name. Steve Armstrong was great as one of the Young Pistols/Southern Boys

Yeah Burchill used to have loads of fans on this forum back in '06 when I was still lurkin' away. People loved that pirate gimmick.
