Okay folks, here's the deal. We referenced this in the Royal Rumble spoiler thread, but this needs to be mentioned on an entirely different level. Over the past week, emotions have been running at an all time high when it comes to Daniel Bryan and his role in the Royal Rumble. Several threads have been made and even more comments have been posted about Daniel Bryan's lack of involvement in the Royal Rumble. Many of you have expressed your displeasure of him not being in the Rumble, with some of you seeing it as a sign he is being misused and won't be in the main event of WrestleMania (never mind that is still two months away and there are other methods of getting into the WWE Championship match). On several occasions, things got heated and moderators had to step in to advise members to calm down. What really stands out is that a lot of this has been happening well before the Royal Rumble PPV even aired and there has not been any proof that Daniel Bryan is or isn't in the Rumble.
Unfortunately, things have gotten to the point precautions are now necessary. Several of us moderators briefly discussed the situation and we agreed any discussion related to Daniel Bryan's actual involvement in the Royal Rumble and its aftermath will be limited to this thread. And considering all that has happened this past week, as well as all of your strong support for him, we cannot stress enough that all of you remain civil in the event Daniel Bryan is improperly eliminated or doesn't participate at all. While you are certainly allowed to express frustration, you are not to flame anyone. You are not to flamebait. Do not mock or chastise your fellow members of FAN, and do not make threats or wish harm on anyone here or who is associated with WWE. These rules also apply to non-fans of Daniel Bryan. It's fine if you are glad if he doesn't enter the Rumble, but do not rub it in everyone's face.
You may feel free to begin threads about any other WWE Superstar, match or topic. However, anything related to Daniel Bryan and his role in the Royal Rumble must be kept here. If other threads pop up, they will be merged with this one or outright deleted if necessary.
Do not take this as an insult. The moderators have no problem with your support for Daniel Bryan and many of us are fans as well. We just need to make sure things remain peaceful in the event of the worst case scenario.
So on that note, we hope you all enjoy the Royal Rumble.

Jeez, when I referenced a FAN Situation Room I said that as a joke...
We might also need a Panic Room by this time tomorrow.

I'm going to take a bold stance here and will argue with all people who proclaim otherwise. I don't care how heated the debate, I will argue this point until I'm blue in the face and red with anger.
Daniel Bryan... is currently sporting facial hair.

I used to think I was a pretty big fan of Daniel Bryan, but then I saw almost everyone here start getting aggressively passionate about him and it kind of scared me. Clearly I am just a casual Bryan fan When Batista wins tonight, I'm going to go hide in a bunker or something...or maybe I'll just ignore this thread until it dies down in about a month or two. BUT DAMMIT it will be so tempting to read.

late in the show, one of the guys penciled in for the rumble is taken out backstage. the authority is diverted and has to leave for the night, and they leave kane in charge. one spot in the rumble has to be filled. counting down to entrant 30, the last vacant spot. commentary puts over that this was [guy taken out]'s spot -- speculation on who may be the replacement. three... two... one... out walks THE AMERICAN DRAGON. conspicuously wearing daniel bryan's attire, but also donning the classic american dragon mask. the crowd immediately recognizes who it is and the place explodes. the american dragon wins the royal rumble, unmasks, and the show fades to black with pittsburgh going absolutely insane. next night on raw, kane reveals himself as a mole within the authority. introduces the winner of the rumble and the new number one contender... daniel bryan! team friendship forever. bryan goes on to main event wrestlemania and wins the wwe world heavyweight championship.

I wasn't expecting this argument to be settled so easily. Alright mods, we've settled this debate. This thread can be locked.

Good idea keeping the D-bry rumble stuff in one place. I'm almost worried that he won't be in the rumble and this forum imploding in rage. I'm just going to enjoy the match. I'm not going to be upset if one person is missing from it.

Three steps to make the WWE Network launch successful
Step 1: Keep Daniel Bryan out of the Royal Rumble Step 2: ? Step 3: Profit!

Honestly, I really don't think I'm going to be that pissed if (when) Batista wins tonight, just because I've long since accepted it. Really, if anything I should probably just look at it as a wonderful opportunity to save $60 if it does happen.
Plus, given the hours I've been keeping lately, by the time the Rumble ends I'm probably going to be exhausted, so I'll probably wind up going straight to bed soon after it. Though I do imagine I'll wake up to find the forum having burned to the ground.

All I will say is this:
I don't think Bryan is going to be out of the title scene forever, but it certainly appears as though they are going to stall his momentum and that he is going to be out of the title scene for right now.
It pretty much is what it is at this point. For whatever reason, they've decided to hold off on what I personally felt should have been his triumphant moment where he finally proves the Authority wrong in every negative thing that they ever said about him and receives his fair reign as champion. Instead, they've made it appear as though the Authority has quashed Bryan's little uprising, gotten their way, and won this feud... for right now. He was someone that they had to get out of their way, both in terms of the actual storyline and in real life (to make room for the Wrestlemania part-timers), and they feel as though they have succeeded in doing just that. At some point their arrogance is sure to catch up with them and come back to bite them, but that remains to be seen. I don't know if I necessarily agree with this approach, but again, it is what it is, and as long as they continue to make a big deal out of him being held down/The Authority not wanting him to even have a title match, then he should continue to remain incredibly popular.
I hate to say it, but he's also going to lose this feud with The Wyatt Family since they are apparently building Bray as a top heel threat to Cena, but after that they will start the build for his Wrestlemania feud which will either be against HBK (who would certainly put him over) or a sort-of-important Authority-endorsed opponent. Either way, I fully expect him to win that match, look strong in doing so, and then slowly begin his journey back to the top. Those who don't like him are sure to enjoy the next few months (especially tonight) and will continue to gloat about it moving forward, and those of us who do like him should just try to be patient and continue to show the guy support no matter how they book him or what he's doing as long as he's being featured, and if everything goes right then maybe they finally will give him a fair run as WWE Champion sometime after Wrestlemania.
No sense in really getting torn up about it, though. I'm as frustrated as anybody with WWE's continually inconsistent and illogical storytelling, along with their inability to deliver "overcoming the odds" storyline payoffs for popular babyfaces not named Cena (and that's not a knock against John, more of an indictment against how WWE books, i.e. only heels and Cena matter in the main event), but if you like somebody you should support them in spite of whatever their spot on the card might be and in spite of whatever booking they might receive. To sort of quote CM Punk, "Daniel Bryan is a dragon" who will rise above all of this and come out better for it, that is what I believe.

I understand why the thread was made, but I find it a bit over-reactionary(?) in itself. It's just a bunch of people who want a guy to win, and feel like logic dictates that he should. You're making it sound like a bunch of spoiled 8 year olds who are going to throw tantrums and start breaking things if it doesn't happen.
I think most realize it's just wrestling, and get passionate on here but not to a degree where "precautions" need to be taken. But, you guys are the mods, and most have been here longer than me so maybe you see something I don't.
