Watching reruns of this series on FXX, and I must say Spin City is a very underrated series, it was very well written. The comic timing and the jokes intercepted very well, and some of the humor was intelligent and some of it was slapstick humor.
I thought the show's prime was season 2 or 3, that is when it found it's niche, than Michael J. Fox and had to take time away from the show, and than leave, it was never the same. The last two seasons was Charlie Sheen, all I can say it wasn't better or worse, it was just different. The last two season they moved from New York to Los Angeles, and you can tell, and it's focus was less on politics and more on relationships. I prefer the more politic humor of the first 4 seasons, but that is just my prefrences.
And my favorite episode I just saw this morning, "Back To The Future Part IV: Judgement Day".

I really enjoyed the show when it was on, but I don't get into the re runs. same with Mad About you, another show syndicated on FXX. I liked it a lot as a kid, but I am not into as a 26 year old adult. even though Stephen Wright is in it.

When Sheen came it, it really ruined the dynamic. You lost most of the cast, and the story just started becoming about how much of a playboy he was. Granted, I wasn't a fan of Kaitlyn's addition either, but she at least didn't completely throw off the chemistry.

With Michael J Fox, Mike was the main character but it was an ensemble show, once Sheen came in, it became about Charlie.

The first season is always interesting to watch, because it seemed like a completely different concept. They shed his girlfriend (Carla Gugino)'s character pretty quick, and that alone changed the vibe of the show into a slightly more traditional, but much funnier, sitcom.
But the show fell greatly when Michael J. Fox left, not just because of him leaving but because almost half the cast left along with him. Jennifer Esposito also kinda vanished not long before he left. And later, Alan Ruck ended up appearing very little toward the end - though I think he was sick at the time - which was just terrible. Definitely a different kind of show; not bad (Sheen and Locklear worked well together) but certainly not the same (the rest of the original cast just kinda seemed to fall around the edges of the new dynamic).

Watched the show all the time as a kid and loved it. Haven't seen it in at least 10 years but every now and again I'll find myself making a Spin City reference without really meaning it.
Most common one is, "Once bread becomes toast, it can never go back to being bread again". I loved that joke so much.

I liked it. It kinda started about relationships with Mike and his reporter girlfriend having some episodes about them till they got rid of her.

I had fun.
I actually got into a mini-argument with an aunt about the show a while back
She hated Paul, which is fine, but I didn't think she knew she was getting worked. You're supposed to hate Paul.
Yeah, he's not funny. But he's supposed to be not funny.

I liked it. It kinda started about relationships with Mike and his reporter girlfriend having some episodes about them till they got rid of her. Funny how you mention that, and how things become full circle, as it became about relationship with Charlie and Catlyn (though that was a 2 year courtship) The guy that played the mayor, he was the male protagonist in Rocky Horror Picture Show. And another thing, in the last season the mayor got reelected and became a lame duck mayor so that hurt any protental for political conflict. Paul was a hillarous loser character. I remember when he was on Millionare and he yelled at Regis. Good times. And in Mike's last episode everyone wanted Mike to throw Paul under the bus even the mayor.

Loved it though Heather Locklear messed with the chemistry a bit. Still never agreed with the fact they made her Mike's new love interest over the other girl in the office
