We all know this just ends up with him returning triumphantly to TNA AGAIN. Seriously, this happens every year. One year, TNA even ripped off the Undertaker vignette. I still think that vignette was originally intended for Sting. I think they made it for Sting before he had even signed a contract with the plan being if negotiations fell through (which they did) they could backtrack and make it be for The Undertaker all along. If you look at the Starrcade 97 commercial with Sting you can see why I think that Honestly the moment I Saw it I thought it was for the Undertaker. Sting didn't even come to mind till I came to the forum and people were freaking out over Sting.

Doesn't shock me Sting is ready. His 2 sons are both in college and his daughter is in high school. He got to watch his kids grow up. WWE has always been highly complimentary of Sting whenever they talk about him in videos, now it's time for him to have his career celebrated. If you go to Sting's website, all it says is his famous last line before he stopped talking/the last Nitro. "The only thing for sure about Sting, is nothing's for sure..." THEN HOW DO WE KNOW THAT'S FOR SURE?!

Lex Luger gives his thoughts: Why Sting belongs in WWE, and why he has always avoided it: [Sting] felt comfortable in WCW and they always took care of him all those years, so really when WCW and WWE were coexisting he never really felt a compelling reason or time in his career where he thought if he went to WWE that there would be a huge positive move for him. I can’t say that I disagree … [With that said] I don’t think anyone could orchestrate the ending part of [Sting's] career better than WWE could. They’re just so good at that. Whether it’s a Hall of Fame bid or a match with The Undertaker I would LOVE, LOVE LOVE to see that happen personally. I think it would be the cherry on top for his career. Thoughts on The Undertaker’s WrestleMania Streak: “I was brought in by Matsuda to always be professional, don’t ever question finishes. If a guy like Undertaker [wanted to beat me at WrestleMania], I wouldn’t have had any problem putting him over, especially at WrestleMania. I understand … that some guys might be frustrated but I don’t understand what they would be frustrated about. It’s one match in a career. If you have confidence in yourself, your career, and the big picture as far as where you’re going, I don’t think it hurts at all to put Undertaker over at WrestleMania.” www.pwmania.com/lex-luger-says-sting-belongs-with-wwe-talks-about-the-undertakers-wrestlemania-streak#.UulhUhBdWSo

If this really happens, Sting picked the worst possible time to go to WWE, haha. The nostalgia parade has worn thin, he can't go in the ring anymore at all, their PPV bonus system is up in the air, and unless he's wrestling Taker this year he'd be in like the 5th biggest match at Mania. If he just goes to induct Ultimate Warrior and get his own HoF induction next year, cool. But in terms of being a big star coming in to have a big match, I don't think it will go well at all.

I don't understand.
Why are people acting like Sting being old and not being able to go in the ring matters at ALL? It's STING. In the WWE. STING. FINALLY IN A WWE RING. There is no f***ing chance in HELL that the audience is going to shit all over him because his workrate has declined.
IT'S STING.
STING.

I'd laugh if Sting was met with Daniel Bryan chants. After all the work Vince did to get him here, the fans shit all over it because they're angry at WWE so much right now. It would be great. Sting would be like "I knew it..."

Aura and excitement will only get you so far, eventually you have to go in that ring and deliver, just look at Scott Steiner's 2002/2003 run and how it went. With all that, Steiner was fresher in people's minds than Sting is.

There is no f***ing chance in HELL that the audience is going to shit all over him because his workrate has declined. IT'S STING. STING. Because in the last 3 years since his coming in felt like a possibility, we've gotten The Rock, Brock Lesnar, yearly Undertaker "streak" matches, Shawn Michaels coming back all the time, Jericho, RVD, Jake the Snake returning, Batista, constant "'member the Attitude Era you guys?" features, "Old-School" Raws and other shows based on Sgt. Slaughter/Bob Backlund/IRS/Dusty Rhodes/Mick Foley/whoever, strong rumors of Hulk Hogan returning, a Network with tons of old stuff on it. Basically, nostalgia overload. He could've gotten in front of all that and been a big deal, now it's going to mean so much less. Throw in that quality work matters more to the fans than it used to, and it could be pretty pathetic and underwhelming.

He's been turned on by everyone else. The fans turning on him would only be a fitting way to go out. It would be like that moment in Braveheart where Mel is marched to the gallows and they're throwing garbage at him. That might be more entertaining than Vince's WCW burial blowjob he'll give himself.

There have been lots guys who have wrestled great matches in their 50's before. I think Sting could do it too, given the right situation.
