I just can't stand this whole notion that if Denver won last night, Peyton Manning's legacy is somehow greatly impacted and he is vaulted into this heretofore unseen stratosphere, but since the Broncos lost, it doesn't affect him at all and the blame should rather be focused on the offensive line, defense or special teams. I haven't read anything, here or otherwise, that is taking all blame off of Peyton. Where are you reading that? As I said earlier, the entire team played like complete shit; from Peyton all the way down to Special Teams. Every player gets their own special slice of blame for playing unmotivated ball in the Super Bowl.

Troy Aikman last night during the game and Herman Edwards this morning on SportsCenter just to name two. You're right, every player gets their own individual slice of the proverbial blame pie for last night's catastrophe. But the biggest slice at the dinner table unquestionably goes to Peyton Manning.

Richard Sherman is also pursuing a master's degree, graduated Salutatorian of his high school class, got about a 1400 on his SAT's, and went to and graduated from Stanford, where you can't be a schmuck academically. Guy escaped from the ghetto of Compton using his athletic talent and his intelligence.
Yeah, he talks some shit. Everyone in the NFL does. But for his biggest controversy, Michael Crabtree was being the douchebag there.

Peyton Manning has no legacy. Just retire. Leg-a-cy noun 1: something (such as property or money) that is received from someone who has died 2: something that happened in the past or that comes from someone in the past

The fact that Manning's legacy would be affected by that game one way or the other is ridiculous. He wins, he's still one behind Brady and Aikman, two behind Bradshaw and Montana. The fact is, he is still one of the greatest QB's in NFL history, he has led mediocre teams to the playoffs, taken good teams to two Super Bowls and taken a great team to the top of mountain. That is ignoring the stats and individual awards as well. Is he a great big game QB, no but to also blame him for all their failures is wrong too. Rings are great, they can add to a legacy but to me, they should not detract from what a player accomplishes. Some of the greatest players in NFL history never sniffed a Super Bowl, let alone three and won one.

I'm about to be even harsher than BRV/slickness:
Everything Peyton Manning accomplished over 17 years is officially moot.
His so-called legacy is up in flames. Nothing he's ever done matters anymore. All he accomplished is now meaningless and in tatters.
Last night was a referendum on everything and anything he's ever done. It doesn't matter what he did or does.
I don't care what Peyton did last year the year before or the year before.
I don't care about his 400+ touchdowns. Last night feels like his whole career just died to me.
As far as I'm concerened, Peyton Manning is dead to me and should just quit. Go away and get out of the game.

Or Marshawn Lynch, who is very shy and not outgoing...although he does like skittles. I believe you meant to say Fruity Delicious FRUITY FRUITY SKITTLES!!!!!!

You really need to take a step away and watch some actual football. You're well beyond talking nonsense.

Last night changed the way I view football.
High-scoring offenses? Overrated.
Vanilla offenses? Underrated.
You ever notice the average offenses that win SB? Think about it.
Look at the memorable offenses that have fallen short- 2001 Rams, 2007 Pats, 2013 Broncos.
On the flip side- I've been watching football since 1984 and outside of maybe the 2009 Rams and the 2 Steeler teams that lost AFC CG's to New England at home, how many memorable defenses have fallen short?

so does Eric Decker stay a Bronco? I don't see it. He is going to get Number 1 money from someone and we have more pressing needs than filling our number 2 spot. We'll probably look to re-sign and move Caldwell to that spot or draft a kid. The money freed up by him and Moreno will end up being spent on the Thomases, re-signing DRC and/or bringing in someone to boost the D-Line. Also, I absolutely hate that this will happen but such is the NFL.

As for Seattle, they did what nobody could really do all year: Get in Peyton's face and pressure him all night. They threw his timing all out of whack, and just knocked around his wide receivers. You can blame Peyton, the rest of the offense, the defense, or the special teams of the Broncos, but the Seahawks came out and just flat out punched the Broncos right in the jaw.
I don't that safety to start really helped either. It just seemed like a bad omen for the rest of the night.
Onto Seattle. If they stay relatively healthy down the road, and most of that defense stays together, as well as the a lot of the offense, they could be the team of the 2010's. A few more Super Bowl rings, and we'll be talking about the Seahawks rising from their bottom dwelling start to a dynasty.
