Personally I always thought Tommy Lee Jones was the best part of the films. Ditto And besides, I thought RIPD was just a reimagining/homage/ripoff of Men in Black anyways.

Aren't these movies a little too new to be rebooted? Maybe if this was around 2020/2025, but the first one didn't come out that long ago.

Personally I always thought Tommy Lee Jones was the best part of the films. First one? Yes. The sequels? No. In two, they brought him back for no reason other than "it's the sequel" despite his character's journey wrapping up perfectly in the first one. Then in the third film, he's sleepwalking through the very few(I think it's only two or three) scenes he has. That said, does Sony stand to lose the rights to this too? I hate this trend of immediate reboots. If studios want to keep doing this, they should structure their franchises like the Bond films and have each one be a self-contained story where another actor can be brought in to tell a different tale without constantly hitting the reset button.

I don't count the second film. It sucked. But TLJ was still the best thing about it. I haven't seen the third one.

Yeah, I'd be willing to bet that a Men in Black movie without Will Smith will do terribly in the box office.

Just wonder how well the last one would have done without Will. Hell the last one here in the States didn't even make 200 million The overseas market saved its ass

Oh for f***'s sake, can we cool it with the reboots yet? I can forgive Spider-Man and Batman, because those characters are far bigger than any actor to play them. But MIB, regardless of it's comic roots, is defined 100% by Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. They are the reason people saw the movies, not the characters. There's no point in rebooting that series. If Will Smith is done, then let the series be done and move on to something new.

Instead of a pointless reboot that will most likely suck how about they just let the series just die and move on with someone else for a change.

The only good thing about MIIB: 'It rains because you're sad, baby.' That line, and that line delivery, is absolute perfection. Rest of the movie sucks a dick.

I wonder if it is about the rights... MIB is a Marvel Comics property. Maybe some writer brought in a script that had MIB being referred to as a super-secret division of SHIELD, and someone started asking questions about who held the rights.

Will he still do the title song for the movie? Will Smith still hasn't made up for the disappointment that was Black Suits Comin' (Nod Ya Head). And let's not even get into the abomination that is Pitbull's Back In Time.

In the reboot, MIB should be dissolved and replaced with a new group led by Tommy Lee Jones' preserved head called "Section 31"

Instead of rebooting it... why don't we just focus on different agents?
I mean it's a massive shadowy organization and we've only ever followed two of them...
