Man, I looked at the screenshots & the story looks the exact same. Only difference is Necrozma, and that's not exactly unique.

I own all of the cartridges at home, but I'd be happy to buy Silver again.
Better exclusives, for one.

Another new Ultra Beast: Adhesive. Also a look at some new locations and rival groups in USUM.

I'm playing through Sun for the first time now after finally getting a 3DS.
It's... OK. I like that it's quicker and less time consuming than the others I've played to level up your team so I spend less time grinding. The battles all feel easy though, granted I haven't played since Gen 4 so maybe that's become a common trend. I like the large amount of Pokémon and the Alola forms though. I'm quite enjoying it.

I think the biggest strength of Sun and Moon was characters. (Hau, Lillie, and Gladion were fun. I can't remember literally any of the children from X/Y, despite the game pushing them as my gang of pals) I hope the Ultras will keep that going.

Im breeding for a shiny Litwick.
Got a 6iv Japanese Ditto with a destiny knot. Got my litwick I bred with 6ivs and an everstone. Im going for quirky which is a neutral nature.
50 eggs in, nothing. Everytime I fill a box, I wondertrade off in hopes for a mythical I don't got or something cool. So far, Only another shiny 6iv Ditto from Germany Im going to give to my friend once he starts Moon. By the time he does, Ultra will be out. Lul

The grass trial... have you gotten past the grass trial? -shudders- Yeah did that yesterday. Finding the items was a bit of a pain, but I didn't really mind since with it been grass/bug enemies my Fletchinder could one hit KO them so I got some decent experience. The totem was probably the toughest one I've faced yet, it KO'd a few of my Pokémon but it wasn't like facing Whitney's Milktank. To be fair though, I don't really mind Pokémon games been easy since I play them more for the fun of raising, catching and training Pokémon. Next trial for me is electricity. Could pose an issue since I don't have any Pokémon strong against electricity and my team has two flying types and one water. It's one for my Snorlax to handle.

Other than the first game, I can't remember many of the rivals/supporting guys from other Pokémon games but I quite like the ones here. They all have something about them that makes them stand out.

If you know what a nuzlocke is, that grass trial is a nuzlocke ender. If you let Lurantis call in Castform, you're done. Thankfully, I overleveled a bit and had my lvl 26 Torracat take out Lurantis. Electric trial's fun

Electric trial's fun In my Nuzlocke run I got by Lurantis after it called Castform with only losing one Pokemon. Granted said Pokemon was my Dartrix, which was a bit of a blow, to be sure, but the Grass-type role in my party was immediately filled because my Eevee had evolved into a Leafeon earlier in the Trial.

Electric trial's fun Im doing a Moon Wonderlocke where I blew away Lurantis turn one because I was blessed with a Drought Torkoal. What nearly ended by Locke was a random Trainer after the Vikavolt Trial, who happened to have an Oranguru. Me not remembering Oranguru's set, set up Two Dragon Dances with my Dragonair to take out the bulky thing. It then used Psych Up, copied my Stat Changes, and revealed Stored Power In my panic I switched as Dragonair hung on in the red to my Torkoal who took the hits better. I got it down to half and then to my utter horror it used Narty Plot, to up Stored Power even more. It then killed my Torkoal the next turn. And then my Breloom which I thought would outspeed it, until I remembered it copied my Dragon Dance Speed Stats. At that point I was basically like "This is where it ends, to a Pokemon that isn't even about attacking, that has a Locke ending set that would make a Dragano Hack blush". The only reason I'm still alive is the asshole got cocky, Nasty Plotted again, and my Shiny Vaporeon's Water Pulse killed it. If any of you run into the asshole with the Oranguru, do yourself a favor, don't set up against it.

Make sure you guys get your Marshadow codes. They're out now. In fact, the cashier I had today was nice enough to give me 3 of them.

An interesting theory is developing about USUM's storyline. {Spoiler}The Japanese info dump showcased some major story differences from the original, most notably Lusamine.
There's a cut scene of her struggling to move & is warning people about "the monster". While its possible she's still an antagonist, she might take Guzma's place as the red herring (don't worry; he's back, too), and its the Ultra Recon Squad that are the true villains. Likely, she struck a deal to get Nebby back, but unlike the original, she's double crossed and essentially left for dead.
If true, this is some deep shit to attempt murder in the game. Yes, I know its as common as breathing in the Adventure manga, but its one thing for a loser like Lysandre to want genocide, yet to have people explicitly put individuals in the crosshairs is another.
