-When Paul McCartney first met John Lennon (1957), there was a gravestone nearby of one...Eleanor Rigby. The song was also originally called Daisy Hawkins. Actually it was called MISS Daisy Hawkins, it doesn't fit into the song's rhythm without the 'Miss.' Similarly, Yesterday was originally called Scrambled Eggs ('sweet baby how I loooove your legs') until Paul came up with real lyrics for it. He was playing it on a piano on the Hard Day's Night set so often between takes that Richard Lester yelled at him and threatened to take the piano away if he didn't stop playing it. God I could shit out a load of Beatles facts.

The future legend of official soundtracks Danny Elfman played in a new wave band before he became a smashing success in the mid to late 80s.
And he did up until 1995 to much praise, seriously, check out Oingo Boingo tracks Cinderella Undercover & Mary and try not to be swayed.
Hell, they were a smashing soundtrack success in themselves, they did the theme to Weird Science!

I get the impression from your response that I was coming across as smug, which wasn't my intention. Especially to a fellow Hicks fan.

When Peter the Great was a little boy, he had an army of toy soldiers made out of real boys. They started off playing war, but as time went on they trained with live ammunition and in real uniforms. They were often trained by foreign officers and by the time Peter was grown and ready to take his throne alongside his brother, they were probably the best trained and best equipped unit in all of Russia. They helped him ensure that his sister didn't use her influence to keep the throne. Peter could have made himself the leader of the unit, but he didn't. He started out as a drummer boy in the unit and later as a bombardier. Throughout his life, he never used his status as Czar to give himself outrageous military titles until he felt that he earned them. He also had several interesting misadventures in Western Europe when he was taking part in the Great Embassy, but that is another story. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toy_army_of_Peter_IFor further reading, I recommend Peter the Great: His Life and His World by Robert K. Massie. It's a very engaging read and very thoroughly researched.

The coincidences/similarities of the Lincoln and JFK assassinations are always fun.

Neville Ebbin was riding a bike when struck and killed by a taxi. A year later, his brother was riding his bike in the same spot and was killed by the same taxi carrying the same passenger.
Robert Todd Lincoln, son of Abraham Lincoln, was present at the assisinations of both James Garfield and William McKinley.

The entire concept/story of Kill Bill was relieved in Pulp Fiction, which was shot 10 years prior to Kill Bill being released imgur.com/gallery/HbmJS
