I wonder what features will be exculsive for either the PS3 or PS4 versions of WWE 2K15

Just realised that even beyond the "what about the cellphones" factor, the empty arena means that Gail Kim's husband was just sitting alone in the middle of an empty seating area, and fighting his way past a security team that was only there to stop him.

Gotta be said, IGNs month of 2k15 coverage has been a complete wash out

IGN itself has become a bit of a washout in the last few years. They used to do WAY more stuff for these games than they do nowadays.

Soooo, games like GTA V and Skyrim can run perfectly on a 360 or PS3, but a new-ish game mode in a wrestling game thats been technically flawed for years cant, really? What's the deal with career mode anyway? Is it the new name for Universe Mode? Because if that's not included with the 360 version, there's nooo way I'm getting it, I have a decent Sting CAW at the mo in 2K14.

I mean, it sucks, but that's a nice way of saying we're not going to port a new feature to a version of that game that will exist for two or three more years before getting discontinued. As for MyCareer, it was a feature that was in the PS4/XB1 versions of NBA 2K14 (so, if the WWE 2K version's code uses part of the NBA code, it makes sense why it won't be on previous versions) that was basically wrestling angles applied to basketball. Just to give you an example of what happens in NBA 2K14, when you're a rookie, you could have a cutscene after a game where one of the veteran players could stop you backstage and tell you that, since you're new, you better learn your place in the pecking order and not make the big plays and you have the choice to respond to him in a variety of different way (from "Sir yes, sir" to "Shut up old man" and a few stops in between). Then, when you're a starter on the team, you usually do interview with the press where they ask you questions and, depending on how you want to be perceived, you can pick a humble answer or a cocky one. So, in the context of WWE, you could have a cutscene early on where Curtis Axel and Ryback beat you down in the back and make your life hell since you're the new guy and that becomes your feud if you pick more face/humble answers. In other words, it's just focused on the evolution of your created wrestler as opposed to Universe where you're basically playing Wrestling God over WWE and its booking. In addition, they've also said that you'll start MyCareer in NXT and get called up to the main roster which has led to speculation that the current gen versions of WWE 2K15 will have NXT guys in it to fill the starting ranks of the game and that they'll be exclusive to those versions of the game.

It's not uncommon for things that seem relatively simple to be left out of the last gen versions. For example the 4v4 multiplayer & free roam in watchdogs.
Personally (as I'm getting the ps4 destiny bundle when it comes out) would rather developers make the best game they possibly can on the current gen, and then make a stripped down version if needed on last gen, rather than making a lesser game that is consistent on both generations.

Ok. As long as we still have Universe mode, I can live without a career mode until I upgrade.
Any word about the CAW mode? The creation suites are about 80% of the deciding factor for me.

The selection screen has a category for "Custom Superstars", so I assume that CAW is in 2K15, however it may end up being as.

...was anyone ever seriously worried about the game not having CAW mode? A feature that has been in the games, without fail, since War Zone?

That sounds pretty awesome to me. If that's what career mode is going to be like, with actual events and storylines for your created wrestler rather than a sorta WWE Universe mode where you just wrestle matches with the occasional cutscene then that will be a major selling point for me.

I hope they fix the Buckle Bomb this time around. I remember before the game came out, I was gonna have one my CAW's "end careers" by buckle bombing people into the exposed turnbuckle, only to quickly find that if you do it as anyone but Rollins, your opponent floats above you and doesn't really hit the corner.
It's a shame too, because it's badass.
