On the Sept. 12, 1992 episode of WCW Saturday Night, several minutes of Jim Ross's segment with Rick Rude where they review footage of Rude wrestling in Japan has been removed.

The 5/1/89 episode of Prime Time Wrestling puts a brand new Chryon over Demolition's chryon during their squash match (possibly because the original one had the words WWF Tag Team Champions).

The 5/1/89 episode of Prime Time Wrestling puts a brand new Chryon over Demolition's chryon during their squash match (possibly because the original one had the words WWF Tag Team Champions). There's an episode of Prime Time from 1989 after Rick Rude won the IC Title where they put this gigantic Chryon that takes up like half the screen during the Mean Gene update segment. No doubt to cover up the original one that had the date and said "Superstars of Wrestling" which WWE can't use. I would be absolutely shocked if the WWE Network ever aired old episodes of Superstars of Wrestling. They'd have to start at like 1992 or something when they changed over to WWF Superstars. The only way I could see them airing old 80's episodes of Superstars is if they got rid of the intro and edited it into a studio show where instead of Vince saying "This week on the Superstars of Wrestling" or ending the show with "Next Week on the Superstars of Wrestling" you have Mean Gene in the studio telling you whose going to be on the show kind of like how Tazz and Joey Styles hosted the "history of ECW" shows that aired on Classics on Demand. Also Mel Phillips was the ring announcer for Wrestling Challenge and he was the ring announcer until I believe 1988 when Mike McGuirk took over so I guess WWE could put the 87 run of Challenge and edit him out and maybe even have Fink overdub new entrances but it would be kind of weird.

They edit out 5 seconds of footage on Wrestlefest 1990. There's about 5 seconds of Sean Mooney Segwaying into the Piper vs Savage match that's missing. This is no doubt because of the music that's playing.
So far on the Coliseum Videos all of the music with the exception of the wrestlers theme music is edited. I'm still going through them and I'm about half way through the 1990 videos.

On WWE 24/7 Online, they aired Superstars from December 1990 forward. They muted the name and covered up the "of Wrestling" part of the graphic with a purple bar with 3 stars. The banners were fine since they just said "WWF Superstars" by that point. I don't think they'd necessarily let Phillips be an issue. Whether or not they cut him varies from show to show. He's not edited at all on the 1991 Royal Albert Hall show.

Supertape 2 edits:
They shorten the intro Supertape 2 graphic and it fades in and there's less than a second of black. On the original tape there's like 4 seconds of black where the Supertape music is playing, no fade, and it says Supertape for 3 or 4 seconds before the roman numerial II pops up. Maybe they shortened it so the music will fit better? Who knows.
Obviously Rick Rude's music is edited but they don't even bother using his generic music. After Rude does a little promo it fades out and then fades in to Roddy Piper entering the ring. On the original tape there is no edit.
Now here's a weird screw up and I am not sure if they ever corrected this but on my copy the Bret Hart vs Martel match ends and then Sean Mooney introduces a Slick promo and then instead of cutting to the Slick promo it jumps to the last minute of the Bret Hart vs Rick Martel match and then it cuts to the exact same clip of Sean Mooney introducing the Slick Promo. I checked and this screwup is not on the VHS version.

On the 12/21/09 episode of Raw, “Centerfield” by John Fogerty is replaced with generic music.

WM22 - I swear I'm mis-remembering this, but HHH could not have come out to "Bow down to the King" since it debuted at Summerslam the following year

I don't know if that's when it debuted or if it had debuted earlier, but that's definitely not an edit.

It was on Wreckless Intent, which was released the following month, and they were promoting the hell out of that thing. Also, I remember a Raw in July 2007 where they teased a Triple H return with KoK, which the crowd popped HUGE for, so it was a well-established theme well before the summer of 07.

The Fabulous Moolah battle royal announcement has been edited out of the March 12, 2018 Raw. The Network version of the episode has a much shorter than usual running time of 128 minutes.
They've also edited out a video about the match from the March 13 Smackdown. Carmella's Instagram promo where she mentioned Moolah right before wrestling Naomi is gone, too, but they left in Tom Phillips mentioning the promo right before it played.

Okay the Coliseum Video release Mega Matches has the disclaimer about being in the "most complete form possible", however they actually did a poor job editing this video. The Network version runs over a minute longer than the actual Coliseum Video release. The reason for this is because during the Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs Macho King match, while these guys are fighting on the apron, the video suddenly rewinds back one minute and you are all of the sudden watching one minute of the match that you have already seen.
Doesn't make any sense to me why they wouldn't have just cut the one minute of the match that's now in there twice out unless they were extremely lazy.

I was surprised that they left in the Jersey Shore theme that Snooki came out to at Wrestlemania 27. I was also surprised That Criss Angel's song from his show was kept in when he hosted raw

Okay, this is a weird one.
I was browsing through the Collections section and found the “WrestleMania” music video in the WWE Shorts folder. For some reason, WWE made several changes to it.
* “Are you ready for the Survivor Series?” is omitted.
*The Nasty Boys’ part is omitted.
*The video is almost completely re-edited with new footage. It’s from that era of course, but the clips are totally different from the original.
Here’s the first version of the video, if you’d like to compare:

Here’s the first version of the video, if you’d like to compare: WWE made updated versions of the "WrestleMania" and "SummerSlam Jam" videos later in 1993 for this Coliseum Video tape: It had to have been released sometime after SummerSlam 1993 because it contained footage of Bret/Lawler from that show.

Yes, later on they edited the videos to reflect the current roster.

the 6/18/12 raw that they had cyndi lauper has her song dubbed with generic music. it's weird because they show clips of her music vidoe that lou albano was in and they have they generic music over it. and they play the music over her entrance too.

the august 3, 2009 raw is so heavily edited. jeremy piven and ken jeong were the guest hosts promoting their movie. they cut out the trailer that aired 4 times in the original airing. they dubbed over this rap song they came out to and had canned crowd noise. When they were both backstage they made sure the tv in the background that had the trailer constantly playing was never shown and they were two sequences where they walk off and it immediately fades to the arena. their was a segment where Jeremy Piven was making asian jokes to Ken Jeong before big show walks in that was edited off. they just have big show walk in. there's also a segment with chavo guerrero that just airs as their in mid conversation. but they strangley left in where they thank Aerosmith for the SummerSlam theme song. I founded it odd since that song is dubbed over the network version of summerslam
