WWE's tape of the 1/23/1989 episode of Prime Time Wrestling is damaged. They use a terrible quality dub of Prime Time that they downloaded off YouTube for this episode starting with the Blue Blazer match and they used other sources to splice in the matches. It's funny that they used this terrible quality dub as there are better sources out there for this show.
I watched the episode after seeing this post and holy crap, it looks like it came from a third-generation VHS tape.

The guy who uploaded it to YouTube has since has his account shutdown but he told me that he knows it's his youtube rip because he had to edit out the Blue Blazer & Koko B Ware ring entrance to keep the video from being blocked by YouTube. The Network version has his same edit. He thought it was funny that rather then reaching out to him to get a non compressed DVD version they just downloaded it off his YouTube channel.

On the 10/31/1981 Mid Atlantic Show they have now edited out most of Jimmy Valiants post match celebration. It was originally on the network and they dubbed over his music but you could hear the original music under it. Now they've just cut it out completely.

On ECW Guilty As Charged 2001, they used the Classics On Demand edit where they muffled the sound at about 50:45 to censor a fan yelling, "f*** you, Anderson! You piece of shit!" This is an oversight, I guess, as shortly after the Network launched, the show's bleeped uses of profanity were quickly changed to uncensored.

Did they edit out Diesel during his Wrestlemania 12 entrance yelling "I'm the shit, I'm tellin' you!"?

I'm sure this might have been covered somewhere in the previous 77 Pages here but unfortunately I don't have time to look through them all. Can someone tell me why the WWE Network version of Survivor Series 1990 is only 2 hours and 21 minutes? What was edited and what was the original runtime of the show?

The original Classics on Demand version of Survivor Series 1990 had some of the interviews shortened because some of the wrestlers said the word "WWF", so they edited them rather than bleep the words out. I think the interviews are complete but unfortunately they cover up all the graphics cards and there's still plenty of "WWF" edits. My guess is that this is the Anthology version. They use the Anthology version of Survivor Series 88 and 89. I think Survivor Series 89 is missing some of the No Holds Barred The Match The Movie hype and Survivor Series 88 has Gorilla and Jesse talking about the 1989 Royal Rumble edited out.

The Network version of 1990 is not the Anthology version from 2008. It does not have the 1993-95 WWF logo added to the bottom left corner like the DVD did, plus it has the plugs for the following night's NBC "The Main Event" special that were not on the Anthology edition.

Surprising Non-edit. The Stuck Mojo "Rising" video is intact on the 3/2/98 Nitro.

Raven's theme is dubbed over with his WWF theme on the 10/12/98 Nitro (usually they dub in a soundalike of his come as you are knockoff).

Non-edit: The Brother Love Show with Sapphire and Sherri during Royal Rumble 1990 includes the commentators (Schiavone and Ventura) talking during the segment. The Coliseum Video version of the show shows the segment with no commentary until Sapphire slaps Sherri.

Taz's "Survive If I Let You" ECW theme is replaced or not replaced seemingly at random.
Replaced: Any ECW Hardcore TV and ECW on TNN episodes where it was used ECW One Night Stand 2006 ECW on Sci-Fi 6-13-2006 (his entrance is cut from a replay of his ONS match with Jerry Lawler)
Not replaced: Any ECW PPV events where he used it ECW One Night Stand 2005

Here's something strange. On an earlier upload of Backlash 2003 they had Goldberg's WWE theme. This has been replaced by his WCW theme which I believe to be the correct theme as I'm right now trying to track down the date that his theme switched over to the Jim Johnston WWE theme. Bash at the Beach 2000 still has his WWE theme dubbed over his WCW theme so it's very strange that they would go back and fix Backlash 2003 and not Bash at the Beach 2000. I would have thought that some employee was instructed to find every instance of Goldberg using his WWE theme and change it to his WCW theme. But... if he came out to his WWE theme in WWE during the 2003-04 run, why change it? I liked the WWE theme. It's one thing to have copyrighted music, but now that they solved the issue of WCW's rampant misappropriation with songs, I don't get why they'd edit out their own, in-house music.

Not sure why, but they have. Every PPV and Raw from Goldberg's first WWE run in 2003-04 now has his WCW music. This is the opposite of the 2013 Goldberg set WWE Home Video released where all of the WCW matches had his WWE music.

Jim Johnston publicly bad mouthed the company after his left so it would not surprise me if they are just being petty and want people to forget that he ever did the Goldberg theme. Several months back I started fixing the Goldberg BluRay set by putting his WCW theme back in but I've been kind of busy. It is very annoying to watch Goldberg WCW matches with the WWE theme.

The 5/26/1986 episode of Prime Time Wrestling has Paul Roma's appearance on the Australian Dating Game Show "The Perfect Match" and Gorilla and Bobby talking about it edited out. You can see that on the Corporal Kirschner interview there is a transition effect that jumps to the next bumper. The original bumper shows a clip of Paul Roma on the Perfect Match with the song "No Easy Way Out" by Robert Tepper playing.

Or..the WCW theme was just better. The Rude instances would make me wonder, but 1) there's TONS of Johnston music intact of course. 2) Use the simple explanation: soundalikes get eliminated for fear of lawsuit.

Johnston's music would have been signed over to WWE before they used it on TV. It's probably, like you said, a matter of the WWE theme being a ripoff of the WCW theme, which was a production track that Turner Broadcasting had at their disposal.
