Was there an issue with having RL Stine play himself? Would be more believable than the current route. Have you ever watched his intros for the hour long Goosebumps specials? Stine is a lot of things, but charismatic showman he ain't

needs the giant mole on his forehead The big twist will be that Stine contained all the evil monsters from the book through the power of the mole, and it needs to be placed back on his head to stop the evil.

Why does Jack Black have to be Stine? He's one of the actors along with the usual "comedy" crowd of Seth Rogan, Will Ferrell, Jonah Hill etc who, when I see their name in a movie, it puts me off seeing it. I just don't like him Still, might have to go and see this regardless. Though they should have based it off either the scariest Goosebumps book (The Scarecrow Walks at Midnight) or the coolest (One Day at Horror Land).

I still would have went with a Creepshow style of movie with it being based on three or four books. As for Jack Black, Maybe they were shopping around the idea for who would play Stine, and he was an easy get. He doesn't come off as someone who could be R.L Stine, but considering they wanted a comedic route for it, I guess I see why they went this way.

I wish they would have had it be a series of stories mushed into one movie, like Creepshow for kids, or Twilight Zone. It would have felt more appropriate to me.

Anthology movie definitely should have been the way to go.

If they went that route, I'd say the three (or four) books to base off of would be Night of the Living Dummy, One Day at Horrorland, Monster Blood (and maybe Stay out of the Basement)

My ideal one would be based in Horror Land but with the rides at Horror Land being based off various Goosebumps books. A puppet shows with Slappy, a Hide and Seek game with the Beasts of the East, a bee throwing contest, the Shock Street ride etc.

I have a bunch of Goosebumps books in my classroom for my students. This will probably help spark their interest in reading them. Whoo!

And done THAT'S NOT SLAPPY Unless you're referring to the TV version (which honestly looks more like how they described Mr. Wood in the first book, making the lack of the first book having an episode even more strange), then it's pretty much close to what the books have always designed him as.
