If Philly gets the number one pick it would be a shame. You should not get rewarded for intentionally losing. What they're doing is tarnishing the validity of the league and they're robbing their season ticketholders. Adam Silver should strip them of their lottery pick and make them pick last. What they're doing is brilliant, and I wish the Celtics more closely emulated the Sixers' strategy. They went full-on in blowing up the roster and rebuilding, something my team sort of pussyfooted around. Philadelphia owns two first-round picks (theirs and New Orleans') that both could be in the top ten. They own five second-round picks, 20 percent of the round. They'll have approximately $30 million in cap space this off-season, enough to spend on two max contracts, in addition to their likely two top-ten picks, plus their collection of young talent including Michael Carter-Williams, Thaddeus Young, Tony Wroten, and Nerlens Noel (if healthy). Sixers fans are smart enough to understand that it's worth it to throw away a season in order to have a solid future. I'd rather have my team follow that plan than emulate some franchise like Atlanta, perpetually stuck in the middle of the league, never going anywhere and never posing as a threat to make a run at a championship.

To me, the whole "rebuilding while still competing" philosophy never works. Either you get really good by lucking out or signing top talent, or you stink up the joint for a year or two and hope all the pieces go your way. When you're trying to build pieces while still gunning for playoff positioning, it doesn't work out because all you do is plan being mediocre basketball. I know this firsthand with the Pacers under the Jim O'Brien era.

Yeah, with how top heavy the NBA draft is, you can't really build if you're constantly in the middle. Unless you're in a city where big name free agents want to go, then you have to make a choice if you're rebuilding or trying to be a legit playoff team.

As long as the team isn't intentionally throwing games, there's not a whole lot wrong with what Philly's doing. They're accepting having a horrid team in the short term in order to build for long-term success.

The Bobcats are inching closer and closer to .500 and are wanting that 6th seed.
And if Detroit doesn't land in the top eight draft picks, we get their pick.
Please! Please! Please!

The Philly Death March has reached 20 days, and I'm willing to bet we hear 21.
Screw it, I think they'll reach 30.

Some AWESOME officiating in this Rockets/Heat game. BS 'delay of game' techincal where the Rockets guy literally tipped the ball to the ref after Harden hit a 3, ref caught it and immedaitely called the tech. This was with 4 minutes left and completely changed the momentum of the game. Then, a phantom technical foul on a play where LeBron got fouled going to the basket, it was a physical foul but not a flagrant and the technical was random as can be.

The New Orleans Pelicans are actively going out of their way to lose tonight, but they still hold a one-point lead over the Celtics.
And the Celtics top New Orleans' attempt at losing with their own effort, by not fouling down one with five seconds remaining. They just sort of let the Pelicans run out the clock.

Seems as though Stern never left. I read about the questionable officiating on Facebook. The league along with the officials I think need to be investigated in terms of how big market teams are given favorable officiating. You know it's bad if all a player does is tip the ball towards the ref and he receives a technical for his trouble.

The superstar calls need to stop. I don't care who it is. I don't care if it's Dirk, Duncan, Ginoboli, Howard, Lebron, Wade, or whoever. You would see just how good these guys are if they didn't have the officials bailing them out.

That would require the stars to compete on the same level with the regular players!!

Bobcats are one win away from .500. Yesssss.
And despite Durant and Ibaka's efforts, Mavericks leave with a win. I hate seeing the Mavericks beat the Thunder. Especially in OKC.
