I don't if is intentional, but I love how the E has been playing with our fears of HHH going over (inserting in the triple threat match, the "face turn")
Heck in any other case I could had thought that the cops outcome was predictable, but today, I had my doubts

How does this build Bryan?
It's the final piece of the puzzle. Bryan has the genuine sympathy and hearts of the audience.... Bryan at 100% would get the entire arena into a near-riot. But you add this in and... holy shit.
Now, not only do you have Bryan's long journey coming to fruition. Not only do you have him being the absolute underdog and pulling it out after two grueling matches. Not only do you have the first definitive blow against The Authority. You also have an injury angle. You have Bryan coming back for revenge.... I can't believe I never thought of this as a piece of the puzzle. Bryan's been screwed over by The Authority... but he's proven he can overcome adversity. The Authority has just taken away opportunity and made things difficult, they've never actually attempted to take him out. Why? In Kayfabe... Bryan IS good for business. But now, Triple H doesn't care about business... he just wants Bryan gone, and he's gonna be the one to do it. This beating is an attempt to take Bryan's career from him.
Now, Bryan comes back from the dead.... beats Triple H, and while that's enough. He goes on to win the title that very same night. Holy crap....
I don't give a rat's ass about the rest of Wrestlemania..... after months of disappointment and worry, I now officially care about Bryan vs. Triple H and the Triple Threat Title match. The rest of the card is just filler to me.

The endgame is that Bryan has made the facade that they were doing, this quasi heel-face thing they had going, fall to the wayside, and showed the Board that these people are nuts and shouldn't be running the company. And we get what instead? Brad Maddox, President of the WWE? They aren't going anywhere. I'd love if they got written off (I dislike Stephanie's bad impression of Vickie Guerrero in attempts to get booed, and she's a bad villainess because no one is allowed to extract revenge on her) but that isn't going to happen. Not with these two. That's the problem with president/GM characters, not the beatdown.

And after the beating of Bryan, another child was conceived in the house of Levesque. May their next child be a masculine child. Just cuz they've gotten all girls thus far. Just wait till they get a little hemophiliac son and are forced to rely on the mysticism of the ominous Rasbryan. As long as we avoid the "dead in a river" part.

I assume those men impersonating officers of the law are facing serious charges.

This was perfect. This was the kind of segment that will actually go on DVDs in the future as a fantastic segment, like Terry Funk suffocating Flair with a trash bag. Basically, exactly what WWE needs more of. they were never allowed to show Funk with the plastic bag again. It went to far.

I would have saved it for the go-home show. Now they have 2 weeks of TV to top that. Not likely. If they did it the week before Mania, then Bryan still came out 6 days later and beat Trips and won the title, it would've negated the severity of it all. I don't think they have to top it, that build is cemented now. They can focus on building the rest of the card. The next few weeks, they can play up the intrigue of "will Bryan be medically cleared?" and have him cut some fired up promos about it. If they go that route it will be a big test of Bryan's mic skills.

Not with these two. I know where your coming from. But with all the gloating and ego-stroking their doing with the "this whole place is ours," it looks like Vince will probably come back to set the record straight.

Not with these two. That's the problem with president/GM characters, not the beatdown. I don't think that's really a problem at all. It's very easily remedied: avoid them getting overly involved in stuff. The "Evil GM" thing has been going on in one way or another since Vince turned on Austin, but it doesn't have to be that way.

I loved the segment but I just hope they didn't go too far as in, hhh is positioned so highly above bryan that even if bryan wins, it doesn't matter. You don't want hhh beating him up so badly that bryan actually loses some of his appeal to the crowd. And I almost wonder if they pushed that envelope tonight as The crowd's reaction was interesting and it had the "this is too much" vibe mixed with "damn..bryan isn't anywhere near hhh's league".
It doesn't help that bryan is smiling at the start of all this when hhh is telling him he is going to destroy him. I hate the way they have bryan not getting angry that hhh is essentially threatening his life before he essentially murders him a few minutes later.
Hopefully bryan comes out next week madder than we have ever seen him and ready to kill hhh back. If he isn't...I'm going to be really annoyed.

Loved it, I kept hoping Bryan would somehow get the knee in or the Shield would make the save but its better that it didnt happen.
That beat down felt very old school in a good way. I know D bry is going to win at mania, but him and H have created the possibility that he might not. I'm officially hyped for their match.
The only thing they could have left out..."YOU HIT LIKE A GIRL!". Was he expecting a deathblow from Juggernaut?

They've also been playing up that Bryan is alone. Would it damage the ME now if we saw the return of CM Punk? I was thinking Bryan wins, Triple H puts himself in the ME, we have a four way in the ME. We have Bryan getting murdered and Punk returns to take Triple H out of the equation. Bryan then at least will have a shot to win.

I loved every single last millisecond of that segment. Holy crap, the last time I remember a beatdown like that was when the Hardys and Lita were massacred.

This is Bryan's hero's journey now, he doesn't need any 'help' inserted.

Got to say, for as much as I loved it, I am shocked at the number of people who thought Trips was going face. That whole thing seemed primed for an goat slaughter from the announcement.
