The most successful and popular ones are the ones who can wrestle and pop the boners. Think about women in the past ten years or so who (A) Got over, and (B) Were considered good wrestlers. 1. Lita: generally considered a good wrestler, generally considered hot. 2. Trish: generally considered a good wrestler, generally considered hot. 3. Mickie: generally considered a good wrestler, generally considered hot. 4. Melina: generally considered a good wrestler, generally considered hot. 5. AJ: generally considered a good wrestler, generally considered hot. Is that a coincidence? I don't think so. I think I shall refrain from posting further on the subject, I generally don't think those listed are particularly good and I fear that would derail the thread if I continued. I think a selection of current performers are good wrestlers and I always felt that Victoria was fantastic so I'm not completely opposed to womens wrestling but yeah, always felt those listed were a tad over-rated. Melina seems suspiciously out of place.

That's a pretty gross, sexist, disrespectful thing to say about women's wrestling and I'm pretty bummed out that so many of you are congratulating him for saying it. That's pretty much the intent behind the division at this point though. I can't really say I blame them either when the most over performers the division ever had got over due to their effectiveness at poppin' boners. This is probably never going to change. Kharma came in and got extremely over, and I don't think she's exactly the most conventionally attractive female wrestler.

Purely for the fact it makes the politically correct brigade get their knickers in a twist, I congratulate him for saying it. God forbid people criticize the pathological objectification of women in the wrestling industry. Nope, there's no problems at all, nothing to see here. The evils of the boogeyman of political correctness are a far greater concern.

You know, for saying this, Bret is probably going to get messages from guys who DID get boners for Moolah, and it's going to get even more awkward.

It's okay to not personally like the people he listed. He was talking about the women who have been the biggest stars, not trying to state who was objectively the best. Though I would agree that Melina didnt really get there. You could argue against Mickie, too.

I think it depends on the context on how he said it. If it was kinda of a wink-wink joke he said in the answer and laughed to signal it was a joke than sure whatever.
If that's all he said in his serous tone, it's still hilarious but still shouldn't be said.

If HHH said this, I wonder how many pages we'd have of people calling him an ass. I think people just find the idea of this soft spoken, deadpan guy who's always had a reputation of taking wrestling way too seriously saying something a frat boy would say funny. It sounds very un-Bret like (though if you've read his book, maybe not so much) and people are chuckling at that. I'd laugh if HHH said it too though, and others might too. I'm not sure why it matters though, and I don't get this ideal that we should react the exact same way towards a situation no matter who's in it.

Honestly, I think people are less congratulating him and more just finding the way he worded it funny. Personally I just think the strangely eloquent yet matter of fact way he worded that was just hilarious, especially coupled with his statement about Triple H's matches. But yeah, it's a f***ed up thing to say. It's just funny because I literally cannot picture him saying it, even though he obviously did. It's like imagining Mickey Mouse speaking Joffrey's lines in Game of Thrones.

Like some paramilitary unit, marching in uniform across the world, doing the unthinkable: *gasp* treating women and minorities like people! It's just so... cartoonish.

We should probably remove the divas pics/gifs thread, then. Unless I'm mistaking 90% of the posts there for objectification.

If HHH said this, I wonder how many pages we'd have of people calling him an ass. Bret Hart isn't awful, so of course he'd get that kind of reaction.

It doesn't matter if you think they're good. It doesn't matter if I think they're good either. Our personal opinions have virtually no bearing on whether any of them got over. It's a matter of consensus. I don't think that Trish was a very good wrestler, or that AJ is hot, but I'm also not an arena full of people, so there they are listed above.

"It's never been better. I mean who ever got a boner watching The Fabulous Moolah" Joke's on Bret because Tyson Kidd discovered puberty when he first saw footage of Moolah vs Sue Green from 1976

I'm not saying Melina or Mickie got as over as Lita or Trish did at their respective peaks, but they both got over. When they were faces, people gave them pretty solid reactions, and didn't completely sit on their hands during matches like most current divas suffer. Again, it's not a list of people where I'm trying to project who among them is or isn't the best. Just a collection of notable women who used a combination of wrestling and sex appeal to get over.

Bret has listed the Bella's and Melina as some of his favourite wrestlers before.
I think he just also appreciates the boner effect.
