It was tough being a Blitzball fan back in the day. People tried to shame you for it. It was sad. It is fantastic.

I'll have to pick this up later, if only to do right by the greatest and most underrated FF protagonist of all time. Yuna is pretty good, I agree.

I shall get this eventually to replay X.
X-2 was awful as far as I remember.

Damn, I don't like the remixed boss theme. The battle theme's good, though.

I shall get this eventually to replay X. X-2 was awful as far as I remember. I respectfully disagree, though I understand. After the last 4 Numbered releases (6-9) were gloomy, depressing and often meditations on the nature of humanity, spirituality and its role in society, X was a brighter veneer on those issues. X-2 is really more a culmination of that changeover. On the surface it's a bright bubblegum pop game of dress-up and "Not a real Final Fantasy", I personally think it's a chance for fans to have a "Lighter & Softer" take on the mythos, while still at it's core being the same deep and engaging story and themes of loss, change, and learning how and when to move on. Hell, if you want to get REALLY thoughtful, Yuna straight up tells Tidus, and it's repeated throughout FFX that she fakes smiling so she doesn't crack. Tidus starts to associate her dancing with people dying (Her Sending ritual)...and how does FFX-2 start? With Yuna dancing and smiling....it's not a happy game. Its a woman thrown in over her head, made into a messiah and forced to {Spoiler} {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Lose someone close to her To do so, all the while she has to remain this happy-go-lucky person.....she has to keep smiling or she'll scream. Now.... That said: I think LeBlanc is weak as far as antagonists go, the sphere hunters plotline is a thin premise, and the disjointed storyline being mostly a myriad of subquests rather than an overarching plot REALLY hurts it. I like the dressphere system and it's an "Interesting" way to combine both the "Fluid party" mechanic of FFX and the Job System of FFV/FFT. Also as an Aside..... THAT LAUGHING SCENE IS SUPPOSED TO BE AWKWARD! HE'S PURPOSEFULLY FAKE-LAUGHING! IT MAKES PERFECTS SENSE IN CONTEXT!

THAT LAUGHING SCENE IS SUPPOSED TO BE AWKWARD! HE'S PURPOSEFULLY FAKE-LAUGHING! IT MAKES PERFECTS SENSE IN CONTEXT! That doesn't change the fact that it's obnoxious. Especially because back then James Arnold Taylor didn't quite have that whole "Being a good voice actor" thing down yet. As for this...this...mess.........I'm really sick of this. "HD remaster" of a Playstation 2 game. Spit-shined. That's all it f***ing is. Okay, there's content never available for the Western audience, yes. But the graphics of the last generation still hold up! The damn original game still looks beautiful, this is a waste of money, both from the company and from the consumers! I'm really tired of this blatant cash-grabbery from the developers, and I'm even more sick of the audience encouraging it.

Man, I love blitzball. The only problem with it is Jecht Shot and Wedge are way too good, so it becomes much too easy (apart from the Al Bhed and their damn keeper).

The Character models have been improved in this version though, and honestly....I no longer have my PS2 console or games. I don't pretend this is anything but a mildly polished re-release, but it's also the only way I currently have to play it. As blatantly greedy as it is from Square Enix, they're literally giving the people what they want. They tried new things and they didn't sell, people WANTED the old stuff re-released/remastered/remade. While I actually understand and 90-95% of the time would actually completely agree with you that it would be a needless remake/re-release this falls into the small window where I'm getting it as a replacement for the original that I'm no longer able to enjoy as was originally presented.

Has anyone listened to the bonus audio, yet? {Spoiler}{Spoiler}So, Auron has a daughter, Tidus and Yuna aren't together, anymore, and Sin is back.
Wtf?
And they said there WON'T be a sequel. Bullshit!

Great work, Square.
