When he was RAW GM for those 3 years, he was if anything consistent.
Contrast that with what's happened since Vince took out the trash in December 2005:
we've had so much RAW authority instability, and it's not like those we've seen since have been consistent except for being inconsistent.
Plus, since he left, the RAW/Smackdown stuff isn't the same anymore- his battles with Stephanie or the late 2005 stuff leading up to Survivor Series.
As much as I didn't like him being with the WWE when it started, by the time he left, I was actually sad.
He honestly in the long run did a good job as RAW GM, and quite frankly, RAW has been too erratic in authority since then.

I thought I missed Eric Bischoff, then he went to TNA and I quickly realized I never want to see him on TV again.

Bisch as an onscreen character without creative control backstage is a thing of beauty. He'll do anything, gets heat, great on the mic - just magnificent.

Bisch the character is fine. I'd love to have him back because he seems to be the only evil authority figure other than Vince (and Vickie, who doesn't get enough credit) to understand how the role should be played. they were on to something different with Johnny Ace as Bill Lumberg the Wrestling Promoter, but they ruined it when they tried making him Vince McMahon 4.0. and Trips is trying but he's just too insecure to get the kind of embarrassing comeuppance that the role requires at the end. don't even get me started on Steph.
Bischoff the guy with actual creative input I want nothing to do with. let him and the older brother from the Wonder Years go waste someone else's time with another lame reality show nobody wants to watch.

Keep him far, FAR away from any kind of creative position. But the man is second only to Vince himself as a heel authority figure. He's so brilliantly smarmy and hateable. I love watching the guy, and I would welcome him back with open arms.

I did like Bischoff's Raw GM stint... with the fact that while he clearly had heel tendencies, at the end of the day his characters motivations were for the most part to make RAW the most entertaining show he could.
Which when you think about it SHOULD be the GM's MO.

In my opinion, Raw went to shit once they got rid of him.
Even his "trial" was incredibly stupid. I can't even remember who replaced him. Coach? Yeah, Eric easily did it best.

Hey his trial was awesome!
With Mick Foley eating moon pies, Maria being randomly intelligent for her statement before returning to her ditz persona immediately afterwards, Chris Masters part in the shenanigans...
The garbage truck was pretty stupid I will grant you.

I knew the end result was to fire him, so I didn't need an entire episode of Raw to see him humiliated, especially with Vince at the helm.
I forgot...did they mention Eric tanking WCW during the trial?

Bischoff was great in WWE and he was great in TNA.
He opened the show with a guitar solo--for goodness sakes.
We need him back. He's also an intelligent guy who I think could be helpful in a creative capacity if he wanted to do it and was motivated.

He may have beat it so far into the ground that the heat from Bash at the Beach '96 actually keeps the Earth warm, but how dare you! I demand WWE bring The Band to the Hall of Fame, they can use the Wolfpac song with lyrics and everything.

Remember when he ripped off mask at the wedding between Billy and Chuck? Man. Classic moment. You just can't write stuff like that anymore.
I don't miss him but if he came back I wouldn't be disappointed. He can get heat, talk on the mic, he's gifted.

I miss his character, never cared for him as a person or as a wrestling promoter. He really was the best heel GM they ever had not named Vincent Kennedy McMahon.
I just hope if Hogan or Sting become GM like rumors were saying a bit recently, they will be the Face equivalent to him in terms of quality.
I think the last few weeks with Hunter as the COO (just like his first few weeks) have been great, even though the middle ended up getting muddled.

He didn't almost run Vince McMahon out of business by being lucky. He did it with tremendous economic resources, legitimate creative successes, and luck.

He's the only guy other than Vince who has an credibility as an on-screen authority figure.

I do want to hear that theme one more time...
And Kung Fu Bischoff was seriously a glorious idea!
