I'm actually very impressed the kid was able to not only realize what was going on, but that he reacted fast enough to save her life. And having read just today a Cracked article about the life of an emergency dispatcher and the awful stuff their job makes them helplessly witness, it must have been a breath of fresh air for them too to have something this good happen to them.
Also, that kid must have a lifetime of ice cream coming his way.
