Lenny Montana, who starred in the Godfather as Luca Brasi, had a prior career as a pro wrestler, even winning the AWA tag titles.

--The first wrestler to make a real career in Hollywood was Bull Montana. During the silent era, he starred in his own series of two-reelers and had parts alongside the industry's A-list at the time, put on one of the first "celebrity" wrestling matches when he met boxer Jack Dempsey in an exhibition match in 1925 (Bull lost), not only survived the transition from silent films to talkies, but also was a pioneer in television, and his personal life was TMZ-style gossip column fodder. Having matches with the likes of Thesz and Gotch was icing. ...wow... So the name Bull Dempsey in NXT is actually a VERY subtle reference to the past!

Shortly after Tom Zenk debuted for WCW, Jim Ross and his broadcast partner (maybe Bob Caudle) were discussing what the "Z" stood for in "Z-Man" to which Jim Ross suggested "Zowwee Man".

In the first decade of the 1900s, Frank Gotch was a nationwide sensation and the first American wrestling superstar, comparable to Gorgeous George/Hulk Hogan/Steve Austin. At one point, he was so popular Teddy Roosevelt invited him to the White House, where Gotch had a match against a Japanese ju-jitsu expert (Gotch won).
The most popular wrestler on the planet had an MMA match with an audience comprised of Teddy Friggin' Roosevelt.
INSIDE THE WHITE HOUSE.

The name "Gangrel" was never owned by WWF/WWE - They were paying White Wolf for the rights to the name throughout Gangrel's run. And they actually sued WWE in the mid-2000s after he appeared on a show using that name without WWE getting permission from White Wolf. I never saw why they had to call him Gangrel. Dude was a midcarder at best, I doubt they made much money off of him. Just call him Vampire Man and save a bunch of cash.

- Between the UWF (Bill Watts) Heavyweight title and its predecesors the Mid-South and Tri-State North American titles, the only man who won both it and the NWA World title is Dusty Rhodes, and none held the WWF/WWE, WCW, AWA or ECW titles.
- Jim Steinman (of Meat Loaf's "Bat Out of Hell" fame) was hired to produce Hulk Hogan's new post-Eye of the Tiger theme at the same time he was in the middle of producing Bonnie Tyler's then-newest record. He ended up giving them a slightly reworked instrumental version of one of Tyler's songs ("Ravishing") as the completed theme, which didn't last long, as it was transferred over to being the theme to the cartoon Hulk Hogan's Rock N' Wrestling, while Hogan lifted "Real American" from the U.S. Express, who had been using that theme.
- Jimmy Snuka was gone from the WWF almost a month before his animated version debuted on the aforementioned Rock N' Wrestling, which stayed on the air another 14 months. When the show did finally end in December 1986, "stars" Wendi Richter and Big John Studd had just left the WWF a couple of weeks prior.

But yeah, it is interesting when you consider that Flair, Hart & Savage all won a world title during the same evaluation period. Oh, and I remember seeing a picture of him in the 1995 PWI 500 when he was known as Moadib.
