On January 25th 1975, during a match where Bobby Heenan was managing, a gun man took aim at Heenan but fortunately missed.

Even though WWE ran Big Show's fathers death as an angle in 1999, his father actually passed away in 1992. Actually, Andre died in 1993.

Four wrestlers from WCW's final PPV have passed away; only three wrestlers from WCW's first PPV (Superbrawl I) have.
JBL held tag team gold with P.N. News and, separately, Evad Sullivan.
Speaking of P.N. News, he and Mantaur are cousins.

Superbrawl was the first PPV under the ownership of Turner as branded WCW, everything before that was JCP.

Cool. Wasn't a JCP or WCW guy growing up, so I caught a couple PPVs under the guise of my folks thinking, wrestling is wrestling. Still got SuperBrawl on VHS somewhere....

If only a certain 30 minute long, Triple H centered web video had existed at the time to explain the error of their ways.

When Mick Foley was a freshman in college he put a picture of Abdullah the butcher on his wall and convinced people he was his father.

the original Big 3 (NWA, WWF, and AWA) all had World Title changes in Japan. But wasn't the Inoki change reversed and stricken from the books?

Every WCW World champion* ever has made at least one appearance on WWE TV, including Arquette (he was ringside as a guest for one show, Raw or Smackdown I forget). *WCW, not NWA 7 of them also held the WWF/E title, Hogan, Flair, Nash, Savage, Giant, Hart and Sid, Only two won it after being wcw champion: Ric Flair and The Giant Giant's first wcw title win was from Flair. Two wcw world champions one the belt in WWE's world title lineage: Goldberg and Chris Benoit

Giant's first wcw title win was from Flair. What about his screwy DQ/Title win from Hogan at Halloween Havoc 1995?

Anyone know when the last time two Englishmen wrestled one-on-one at a PPV before Barrett & Neville? I honestly can't think of any. Did Regal and Birchall fight one on one during the pirate gimmick. I remember a mini feud but not certain if they had a match.
