Question for someone who haven't watch TNA in a while? Does Eric Young still has a "full retard" gimmick or is that something of the past. Also Eric Young is now the only person to hold the World, Television, Tag Team, X and Knockout Tag belts

Between Chris Sabin, Magnus (booked worse than perhaps any heel champion I have ever seen), and Eric Young all holding the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in the last 12 months, I am reminded of a promo The Rock cut in 2001 during the Invasion: "The Rock knows damn well the history of the WCW title - the Rock knows that the title traces back to Frank Gotch, Lou Thesz, Ricky Steamboat, and WOOOO Ric Flair! And the Rock also knows damn well what in recent years the WCW title has come to...Diamond Dallas Page, Booker T, the guy from Scream 2, the dog from Married with Children, the maid from the Jeffersons, Shane McMahon, this WCW title is just like your sister - everybody gets...a turn. ..." And that's the thing. The world champion of your organization means that the holder of that title is the best of the best. Naming off some of the former champions is like a game of which one of these is not like the other. Sabin won unexpectedly and went back into mediocrecy just as fast. Magnus was meant to be a chickenshit heel who couldn't win without help but became weaker with each title match outcome. EY was a comedy goof just a month ago. Might as well and give Gunner the belt. He got more cred than the last 3 title holders no doubt.

They play up he's got a wildside but that is more about risk taking than anything else.

Oh and a minor funny note on this, I find it hilarious that EY won using a move that just a few years ago caused massive outrage from everyone in the company because it was banned by the boys because of the danger factor.

I feel that EY has become a much better serious baby face in recent months, but as said before, TNA is so incompetent that they couldn't build up a storyline and a big moment at the next pay per view, as mentioned before. It's such an easy one as well. A guy was never thought of as a serious contender, becomes a serious contender, and they build off of that. Magnus says that he can't do it, he's just Eric Young, the funny guy. TNA does those personal vignettes so well too, and they could make a bunch of those. There was so much potential with this.

Thanks TNA, for giving us this much needed laugh. I suspect they realised how bummed everyone was over Warrior's passing, so they did this hilariously stupid title change to cheer us all up and remind us all how completely and utterly useless they are. EY died for our sins.
THANK YOU DIXIE! *CLAP* *CLAP*, *CLAP* *CLAP* *CLAP*

It was banned amongst X Division wrestlers which funny because they did move to each other way worst the standard piledriver EY was using. Like a Canadian Destroyer was ok but a regular piledriver, stop the match.

Eh who knows maybe they just wanted to put the belt on a babyface so they could get it on their Grim Fandango ripoff with the umbrella at the PPV

He went serious a month ago when Abyss become evil again. And EY has held every title in TNA except the Knockouts single title. So far Time for the TNA debut of Erica Young.

Sort of joking and sort of serious question, If Eric Young didn't have a beard, would we even be having this thread right now?

So far Time for the TNA debut of Erica Young. EY's twin system with hormonal issues? (to cover for the beard of course)

Sort of joking and sort of serious question, If Eric Young didn't have a beard, would we even be having this thread right now? Well, there's still the matter of Samoa Joe walking off the show just like Punk did, Young asking for a situation where he had to win two matches in order to get the title, and the fact that he sold an arm injury just like Bryan. I suppose we might not be having this topic if EY didn't have a beard, because they may not have put the title on him if he didn't have a beard.

*Vince Russo watches Wrestlemania 30*
*sees Bryan win the WWE HW Title*
*gets inspired*
*begins writing down ideas on a sheet of paper*
*The morning after, he shows up to a TNA creative meeting carrying thousands of pieces of paper looking completely exhausted as if he hadn't slept all night*
Russo: "So guys, I'm quitting this job today. I'm finally gonna try being a science fiction writer. It's a lifelong dream for me. I brought with me a rough draft of my first screenplay 'Bionic Ghost'. It's about a ghost who dies and is brought back to the afterlife using modern advancements in technology. Who wants to read it? I brought seven copies with me."

Part of the problem is the total lack of depth on the roster. There wern't many rungs for him to go through to build himself up. There's like 4 credible heels. Roode is involved with Bully Ray, Storm is feuding with Gunner, Abyss is with Magnus, Magnus is the champ. After that it drops off a cliff to like Sam Shaw and the Bro Mans...Shaw's a new wrestler working this dark gimmick that needs to be protected, Bro Mans are tag champs. The budget cutter has also claimed the ability to properly build up talent.

Hell up until last week Eric Young was a bumbling idiot that the whole reason he was even mentioned in the title was an association with Abyss because he spent 18 months convincing Joseph Parks he was Abyss, yes 18 months doing this when it could have been done in 3 months. Plus Joe has a legitimate point he was never beaten clean and should still have chance, Eric Young was also involved in that Fatal Fourway last week he was the one pinned. It is badly timed and Eric Young literally was a figment of the title picture, I do wonder where Aeries has gone. Even after winning the title they didn't even let the moment sink in they just faded to black. Again Magnus failed. EY kicked out after a low blow and hit a piledriver to win. Magnus was even booked as an incompetent champion, Bobby Roode would have been a better heel Corporate Champion, he can cut promos and knows how to sell psychology in the ring. I do think its cool that he won but it should have happened sooner Actually, it's been more like 3 weeks, or right after Lockdown, that he's been in the picture & those shows were taped about a month ago and EY only spent a few months(still longer than it should've gone) trying to convince Joseph that he was Abyss, not 18.
