Worst World Champion in TNA History? Chris Sabin holds that honor!
If you want to count the time when TNA had the NWA championship....Rhino and Abyss reign are probably much worse then Sabin. You are right. Rhino was worse.

Sorry, but ripping off the WWE happens too much in TNA to give them the benefit of the doubt. Recently alone they've given us: The Winter of Styles Corporate Abyss Beardyman wins 2 matches in one night and becomes champion. Thats just in the last 6 or so months. Plus Aces and Eights, a blatant rip-off of the NWO. Not to mention pairing the Samoan Tongan woman with the Women's Champion as a bodyguard.

If they just thought about it there were so many others they could have put this belt on last night that were in that 10 man, and it wouldn't have come off looking like this.
I mean I like EY but in Kayfabe he's won 1 match in the last 11 months? If they had to get it off Magnus why couldn't they put it on idk Storm for a while? He's used to uneventful transitional championships. Build EY up make him credible. Could have had (omg can't believe I'm saying this) f***ing Gunner feud for the belt while you build up EY. Then go with the underdog overcoming the odds bullshit.
Would have been alot better than what we got last night. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it's not a giraffe. Or is TNA's championship belt a doorknob....you can fill in the rest of that pun.

A long heel championship reign should not be ended with such little build-up. Build up EY properly as a real contender, have the match at a PPV, make it a big deal. I agree, they should've waited till Sacrifice. Have EY win the gauntlet in the main event, then the next week, have him face Abyss in a gimmick match, where EY wins despite Magnus trying to interfere. The last week before the ppv, have a 6 man tag match, with EY pinning someone else in the match(Storm, Shaw, one of the BroMans, whomever) & then end the show with a contract signing where MVP makes the same stipulations he made for last nights match(if Magnus gets intentionally dqed or counted out, he loses the title & if anyone interferes, they'll be fired). At Sacrifice, have Abyss attack him before the match, then have EY come from behind to beat Magnus.

Not to mention pairing the Samoan Tongan woman with the Women's Champion as a bodyguard. If TNA had a white knockout of similar size, and made her Gail's bodyguard instead, would this even be an issue? Again it's more the timing because as I recall it happened almost immediately after AJ started coming out with Tamina as her second. It's the same thing with this angle here as Daniel Bryan just won the belt at Mania. Unlikely as it is, TNA very well may have had no intention to rip the WWE off, but the timing of things just makes it seem that way. And no matter if Gail was aligned with Lei'd Tapa, ODB, a returning Awesome Kong, or anyone else, it still would've come off suspiciously similar to the aforementioned angle, even if that wasn't their intent, but the fact it was Tapa just made the similarity come across as even more of a blatant rip-off.

They were even ripping off WWE back then. That was right around the time of the reign of terror. Jarrett was ripping off Triple H

For some strange reason, this makes me think they are doing this to counter act the Undertaker streak.

For some strange reason, this makes me think they are doing this to counter act the Undertaker streak. I can just picture it, Dixie in a room with the entire TNA creative team - Dixie: The WWE has just ended one of their most iconic traditions in pro wrestling history and everybodies talking about it. What can we do to mooch some heat off of that? Christy Hemme: I have an idea!

TNA just gave us another LOLTNA moment. TNA are not even trying to improve anymore.
The TNA title just lost all of its credibility.

Wow.
I haven't watched TNA in a long time, but just the description sounds blatant of straight copying WWE less than a week later. That's just sorta sad and pitiful.

Ok, I have skipped a lot of TNA the last few yrs. so I must ask, how in blue hell did he win the world title? I saw a vid of the last two minutes but I want to know under what pretext EY became the #1 contender. Look I have always loved Eric Young's shtick. I always thought it was very apparent he absolutely loves wrestling. I can tell that he works hard as shit to get over. He has jobbed to everybody who ever debuted. He was repackaged and repackaged again. He was forgotten by the office despite his loyalty. Hell they even released him at one point just to resign him at a lower rate(could've been newz as we never know the financials). Does he deserve a TNA lifetimes achievement award? In my opinion yes. But I never saw him as a world champion and I love him. So how did they push him so fast? Last time I watched for any amount of time(few months ago) I never saw him once and never heard his name mentioned. So please someone explain(no relly that's a shoot, I dunno how it happened. Thanks for my help

Super credible champion. This sums up TNA quite well actually. The thing about Bryan winning the title, is that he had proven in the past that he could beat the top talent. He beat Orton clean numerous times and even went over Cena clean. His win over HHH - clean as well - helped solidify his victory even more. Bryan is now a credible wrestler and champion who believably went over both Batista and Orton. TNA think that giving a guy a victory over the entire main event roster in a gauntlet match and the title win over a champion who couldn't win clean by himself instantly makes Young credible for the past 10 years or being a geek. Such a blatant rip-off.
