So this was probably the worst ideas in the history of wrestling - and I loved every second of it.
Sting has been virtually the same guy almost his entire career, and he was FINALLY trying something new, and given that his gimmick was already movie influenced this really worked for me.
Joker Sting was f***ing terrible and I was always entertained by it.
Anyone else a mark for Joker Sting, even if he was just riding on Hostage Taking Bird's coattails?

It was far from the worst gimmick ever. Yes it sucked.
But its not Stings fault!
Hostage taking Bird, stole all his good lines.

It was bad, yes, but it was the most entertaining Sting had been in years at that point.

I didn't mind it, but it just reminded me of Jim Carrey and that's all I could think of anytime he was on screen. Of course, I love Sting and Jim Carrey, so take that as you will.

It was really fun, I just wish it had some focus.
...But then, when does CAH-RAZY ever have focus?

I honestly think TNA was onto something with it and was very sorry they dropped it so soon.

It walked a fine line for me, of being really entertaining at points and pretty embarrassing at others. Still, I thought it was fun, and I enjoyed it most of the time.

Every time Sting showed up on an episode of TNA I was disappointed. Joker Sting made me even more disappointed. Only worthwhile thing was the Hostage Taking Bird.

For me, I look back at it fondly. Well, not actually, just him on Hogan Vs Flair on youtube as Wacky Sting.

He was Ace Ventura. I said that from his first night as 'Joker'. It was silly as hell

He was so wacky, that he was entertaining. And it gave us the Hostage Taking Bird, I will always be thankful for that.

It was kinda bad, but bad in an entertaining way.
And Sting committed to it 100%, my god did he. Haven't seen that goofball energy since the Surfer days, and I think he just wanted to let some of that loose again.
Taken as an overall gimmick too - because it seemed to go on forever at the time, much like BikerTaker - it even had a solid storyline. The in-ring promo where he dropped the crazy to sincerely put over Roode and the importance of their match were tremendous. The gimmick went on a little while after the point had ended, but still.
Hostage Taking Bird, his snazzy red suit, tricking Hogan into their BFG match, convincing Eric & co for an entire show that the Network had given him special powers based on nothing but Sting pretending they had...there are some fun memories there amongst the silliness.
If he was a younger man and able to go in the ring as much as he used to, it would've improved things a lot further. Joker Sting doing planchas and missile dropkicks at a hundred miles an hour.

He really made it work while others might of struggled a bit with the act.
