Just noticed this happened and don't think anyone has started a thread about it. Koloff may have accomplished the incredible feat of getting southern fans to cheer for a Soviet heel during his reign, but in Ambrose's reign he...
He...
...
Well, I guess the belt looks nice on him.

I got nothing...
I like Ambrose, but I can't remember one memorable title defense during his reign.

He actually has the 4th longest reign now.
1.) Lex Luger: 523 days 2.) Rick Rude: 419 days 3.) MVP: 343 days 4.) Dean Ambrose: 329+ days 5.) Nikita Koloff: 328 days

Unless, you're not counting these guys for one reason or another in which case...explain!

Jesus, it's already been close to a year hasn't it?
Not many people can claim to have a year long reign that is literally forgettable, so at least that's something.

You know, part of me thinks the only reason he is still champion is because it's a rib on him backstage because he complains about having to carry the belt around when he travels.

Punk at least continued his great series of matches with Cena. Not really. He only technically faced him one on one for the title only once during his year long title reign (before Survivor Series 2011 doesn't count), and it ended with a top rope German suplex. He should have faced Cena more often.

I have a suspicion that it will end next week in this story, but I could be wrong.

I think they only put the title on Ambrose because they wanted Team Friendship to drop the titles to Reigns and Rollins, and wanted Dean to carry a belt as well. Then, when Rollins and Reigns dropped the tag titles, they forgot to take the US title off Ambrose.

Just let him keep it. Occasionally have him switch it out for other forgotten belts--ECW, Cruiserweight, European, Hardcore, just for variety. Have no one draw any attention to or bat an eye at when he's wearing a different belt.

They have THREE male singles titles. It's not hard to book them, especially since we're back to one major title and two smaller ones. Tonight, they made a great leap in making the IC title seem important again. Hopefully they have Ambrose drop it a number of months to reignite the postponed Shield split. And preferably before that, defend it more. Work it into the storyline that they protected Ambrose from having to defend it so much due to The Shield working for The Authority.

In the past WWE has had periods with way more singles title while making them all seem at least somewhat important. There was a point where the WWF, IC, Euro and even the Cruiserweight and/or Hardcore Titles all carried some weight to them at the same time. Heck, even WCW had a good stretch in around 1995-1997 or somewhere there about where the WCW, US, TV and Cruiserweight belts all were booked well. With the amount of talent and programming WWE currently has there is really no excuse why they shouldn't book their titles better.
