Right now, Suicide Dives are definitely "in." Everyone and their brother is doing them.
But it struck me: This isn't the first time this has happened.
In fact, moves tend to come in and out of fashion quite often; remember like six years ago everyone was constantly doing arm drags? I vaguely do.
What are some moves that you've noticed have come in and out of fashion in this way?

Atomic drops very popular in the early 90s. I never see anyone do it anymore.

There was a time when everybody and their brother did a spinebuster.

Pumphandle Slams and variations on that theme seemed much bigger around 2000ish.

Superkicks were huge in the time between when Austin beat Shawn Michaels and the rise of the Elimination Chamber.

Superkicks were huge in the time between when Austin beat Shawn Michaels and the rise of the Elimination Chamber. And they're starting to get there again between the Usos, Alberto (with his kneeling one), Ziggler, and Rusev.

Flying reverse black man STO. Used by Shelton Benjamin, R-Truth, MVP.
White guy Overdrive. Used by Randy Orton, Carlito and MVP (!?)

In the mid-2000's everyone was using clotheslines.
In 2008-2011 it seemed like enzuiguris were being done multiple times each episode.

I remember a time when the predictable "sleeper hold spot" would happen in almost every big match - does it still happen now?
In 2002 main event wrestlers were in the habit of stealing each other's finishers.

I think there was a short time in the wake of the Benoit incident where everyone started using the Crossface as a resthold to disassociate the move with him,

It seems like a few years ago, every big guy had a Big Boot in their arsenal.

I think there was a short time in the wake of the Benoit incident where everyone started using the Crossface as a resthold to disassociate the move with him, At Backlash 2008, Great f***ing Khali used a crossface on Big Show. Was truly bizarre. Also, HBK and HHH also used the crossface that night. ECW loved themselves their sitout powerbombs.

In the mid 90's every guy who wasn't a big man did the spot where the guy bends over and they put their leg on the back of his head. When the bent over guy raises up the standing guy does a back flip.
I saw that spot a hundred times between HBK, 123 Kid and Owen off the top of my head. I think it was years before I saw Rey do the same thing but when the guy rose up Rey did a huricanrana.

There was a period a year or two ago when barely a match went by without the competitors battling it out on the top/second turnbuckle, even people who don't usually use the top rope thought it was a good idea to go up there. It usually ended in a superplex or one of the guys getting pushed/headbutted off.

Japan. Roundhouse kicks. Everywhere.
Also Attitude Era and the "set up piledriver ringside/crowd, backdrop" spot.

Suplexes in general were a must in 90s matches.

There were a few guys using Backcrackers around 2005 or so. Maven, Carlito, definitely a few others.

LAte 80s to Mid-90s, there was a 94% chance your finisher was a Reverse DDT. Before that, it was a Figure Four Leglock/Grapevine.
