For the longest time, you'd see a lot of chest chops in the early goings of nearly every match. Indy shows still do this to some degree.

There were a few guys using Backcrackers around 2005 or so. Maven, Carlito, definitely a few others. Orlando Jordan's another one.

Bodyslam was THE wrestling move some time ago, to the point I'd say even now it's still the most widely known move with many calling any wrestling slam a Bodyslam.

Superkicks were huge in the time between when Austin beat Shawn Michaels and the rise of the Elimination Chamber. And they're starting to get there again between the Usos, Alberto (with his kneeling one), Ziggler, and Rusev. And Luke Harper.

Everybody not in the WWF had an Ace Crusher variation after Austin's Stunner blew up in popularity.

Flying reverse black man STO. Used by Shelton Benjamin, R-Truth, MVP. White guy Overdrive. Used by Randy Orton, Carlito and MVP (!?) Muhammad Hassan and Undertaker also used the STO. As did Frankie Kazarian in his short-lived Velocity stint.

DDT is always in style. JEE-zus, you watch an old Attitude Era PPV since the Network came out? Literally a DDT in every match. Also, Canadian Destroyers. Not everyone could do them, but lord, lots of people tried. And no matter how inconceivable it was, man did people love seeing it.

Diesel (Fake and real), Razor (Ditto), Ahmed, Vader and Sid made 1996 the year of the Powerbomb in the WWF.
And every indy match in 1998/99 (and a hell of a lot of big league matches too) would feature a Chokeslam.

The BOO-YEAH punching exchange (with crowd response) has been a staple of main event title matches since John Cena and HHH at WM22.

I remember a time when the predictable "sleeper hold spot" would happen in almost every big match That's what I came in here to post.

LAte 80s to Mid-90s, there was a 94% chance your finisher was a Reverse DDT. Before that, it was a Figure Four Leglock/Grapevine. I only really noticed the reverse DDT in the mid to ;ate 90's when it was the most generic finish. Before that I'd only seen Skinner do it.

Back Suplexes Forever. Seems about as common as a headlock.

Diesel (Fake and real), Razor (Ditto), Ahmed, Vader and Sid made 1996 the year of the Powerbomb in the WWF. I was gonna post that. It's like in 1993 there were no powerbombs and by the end of 1995 like half of the finishers were powerbombs.

On the indy scene EVERYONE does the "On the apron jumping enzugiri to guy in the ring while holding top rope." Sin Cara thing.

During the mid-00's, it seemed every match was required to have one neckbreaker and one superplex.

Wasn't there a pay-per-view in 1998 like Over The Edge or something where there was like 9 piledrivers done throughout the show?

When I watch videos from the mid to late 1990's, I feel like piledrivers were used very frequently and without actually doing any damage.
