Also Maryland Championship Wrestling is offering free admission to their show this weekend to anyone with an Extreme Rising ticket. It's good to see promotions that know what they are doing (and actualy run more shows than they cancel) are trying to make good with the fans who have been screwed over by this O'Neill guy. They certainly don't have to. When this type of thing happens, it contributes to souring some fans on the idea of supporting indy wrestling.
I hate it when wrestling people who are at odds with one another post texts/emails for everyone to read. Just seems completely childish.
Although, my favorite Sabu quote is "Thry r Worrg."

I've always felt that these ECW rehash promotions only get any publicity because Mike Johnson can't let go of his eternal ECW fetish and always gives any promotion he can some facetime if it reminds him of ECW. The guy does great news reporting, but the ECW fetish is really, really, really, really tired. While I don't disagree, I know for a fact that he thought Extreme Rising was pretty much a joke. Having been to a few Extreme Rising shows, this news doesn't shock me. I actually was going to buy tickets to these shows (I'm a sucker, I know) until the Hawx/Sabu news came out. Then, I decided they didn't deserve my money. Now, they'll never get my money again.

Since they deleted their social media accounts today, I suspect this is the end of the road for Extreme Rising. Neither wrestlers nor fans will waste their time with this again, if they even try to do more shows.

I liked EW mainly because it was one of the few places to watch Facade. Hope he can get some exposure elsewhere. As far as EW, you can only screw over your fans so many times. Steve seems like a total prick. At least the arena is available for anyone who wants to use it. Facade wrestles at almost every IWA-East Coast show here in West Virginia. He wrestled ACH at the show last month which was supposed to be an amazing match by all the stuff I've heard (I didn't get to attend). Last match I saw him wrestle was against Sami Callihan last year and it was a great match. I fully expect Facade to be a future star. The guy is quite talented.

My favorite part of all this is O'Neill telling fans to "PLEASE CONTACT YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY OR BANK DIRECTLY, OR STORE PURCHASED AT".
He can't even be assed enough to make-good on refunds himself, he has to make the fans have to go through bureaucracy to get their money back.Probably figured most people would just throw their hands up and give up so he would still get the money.

AIW in Cleveland are offering discounts to anyone who had Extreme Rising tickets for their show on Friday (featuring Elgin/Delaney, Shelley/Donst, Steen & Gargano/Page & Lyndon, and Athena/Nikki Storm).

Possible language warning.
That is what will most likely be the final Extreme Rising World title defense. At a show in Picayune MS which was co promoted by Powerslam Productions and Wrestling Outreach. Luke Hawx defended the title against Outlaw Matt Lancie.

I must say I have too give a lot of credit too the several indies shows that did step up to try and write the wrong with free tickets or discounts. None of them had too as it wasn't there business or problem to deal with but they did and deserve a shot out for doing so. Those are the kind of people I would want to bring business too if I was in the area. They promoters of those companies showing they care. I'm sure wrestlers look at them in a respected way even more that they did it and want to work for them. It shows for every slim like McNeil, there several good people running shows and this shows that and is good to know that as a fan and wrestlers.

I though the last Extreme Rising show was pretty good. Their official facebook page shows that they still plan on having the shows on the 25,26 and a lucha show on the 27th. I disagree with those saying this promotion is raping the corpse of ECW since they do have some really good young wrestlers on the roster such as Facade and Papadon, have good wrestling and aren't trying to do reunion shows. They are trying to run a legit promotion, just have made many many mistakes, some excusable, others not so much. If they have to cancel these shows, its over. If they can get these shows running I think they have a chance at salvaging the promotion (which admittedly, has been heavily damaged at this point). But once they cancel them, they can start with the Extreme Rising tribute promotion, Extreme Rising Rising. And then, the tribute promotion to that one. It's a genius concept!

I'd say thank God the WCW corpse hasn't been raped like the ECW one, but you could of fooled me into thinking 2000 Thunder was playing every Thursday night on Spike in 2010.

And the OMEGA Boyz jump on the "f*** Extreme Rising, Come see us" bandwagon: That is from Matt Hardy's Facebook page. This show, if I remember right, will be headlined by the Hardy Boyz against the Briscoe Brothers. The range on this thing seems pretty far. I hear Azerbaijan Championship Wrestling is offering discounts to those who purchased Extreme Rising tickets as well.

Anyone notice how the threads about promotions "raping" ECW tend to use the word "rape" more than the threads we've had about actual instances of rape?

Luke Hawx defended the title against Outlaw Matt Lancie. Extreme Rising claimed the title never changed hands. Luke Hawx still has the title and said something about defending it against Shane Douglas this weekend. I could see Shane winning it and throwing it down just like he did with the NWA and MLW titles. That will probably be the last we hear about it.

All the local indies were trying to capitalize on it, but why not. Get some more people to your shows.
Stuff like this, Extreme Rising nonsense is pretty bad. Tommy Dreamer's promotion seems to be a lot less like an ECW rip off promotion and more like an event with a who's who of talent that takes place once in awhile.

Tommy Dreamer's promotion seems to be a lot less like an ECW rip off promotion and more like an event with a who's who of talent that takes place once in awhile. Well it smart on them to do that and do it away to draw them with discounts and ext. With a good show they could get more new fans each event. I don't blame them at all and I stand what I said that they didn't have to do anything at all because it wasn't there problem but try to do the right thing for fans. Free tickets from one promotion even. Which if it was me I be all over it. Even then looking at some of the matches on the other shows. All have something I be interested in seeing.
