Just heard Tony Schiavone say it was 100,000 people. It looked like one of the smallest crowds I ever saw at a PPV so had to look up the actual attendance which was 9,500. For as much as people talk about WM 3 not really having 93,000 people I'm surprised this doesn't get more attention. This event was free to attend as well.

WCW used to claim absurd numbers for the Road Wild outdoor events as well, as if everyone at the Sturgis rally was actually watching the shows.

I think the best was the time Scott Hudson claimed there were over 17,000 people in attendance for a show, but the arena only held around 10,000. I want to say this was Bash at the Beach 2000.

They probably included everyone currently on the beach in that state as being in attendance.

It's Tony Schiavone. Why are you surprised?

He was counting the jellyfishes, crabs, and starfishes in the total.

I was there! I think it was more like 3000? It was reported in the paper the next day and I kept that article for a long time.

Attendance figures aside... Easily one of Hogan's best matches in WCW... Even if it was used for an episode of Baywatch.

If I recall, at some point in that show Schiavone claims that there isn't an empty seat in the house, when you can clearly see empty seats right on camera.

9,500 is still pretty good for a wrestling show in 1995, which was overall lean for business.

WCW 100,000: And real life's 100,000: But nobody in the bottom pic got to see DDP vs Dave "Evad" Sullivan live, did they?
