This is kind of random but was watching Summer Slam 92 on The Network and made me wonder a couple things...
1. When Joey Marella passed away, did WWF mention it? If yes, did they do any sort of tribute and did they mention that he was Gorilla Monsoon's son?
1a. Was Gorilla off tv for any length of time after Joey passed? I forget..
2. When Mark Curtis passed away, did WWE mention anything of it? I know WCW mentioned when Gorilla passed away and I know a lot of WWE talents were friends with Mark..

I remember the WWF having one of those "In Memory of" graphics at the end of Superstars for Marella.

The spooky thing was, since weeks of Raw were taped ahead of time, Joey appeared in a lot of matches after his passing.

I don't think it was ever mentioned after Joey's passing that he was Gorillas son
Indeed Monsoon did take some time after his passing, but his health was slipping at that time and he was being phased out of the broadcast booth anyway by 1994
Harvey Whippleman was in the same car.

In regards to Mark Curtis I'm almost positive the WWF didn't mention it, but I could be wrong. They did let their talent work a show in his honor just before his passing and later let their talent work a memorial show for him though.

However, WCW did a segment in his honor.

The WWF had a segment talking about what a great person Joey Marrella was, and what a great professional he was. I thought it was weird at the time that the WWF was giving that much air time to a referee. I can't remember if they actually said Joey was Gorilla Monsoon's son, but I remember being shocked about it when I found out about their relation. I was a young mark at the time.

One of my favorite things now about old wrestling is how hard of a time Jesse would give Marella when doing commentary with Gorilla. Nice little jab that flew over 99% ore more of the audiences heads at the time. It's fun now, even if Gorilla and Joey are both gone.

Fell asleep behind the wheel supposedly. Whippleman was seriously injured as well, so it's not clear how much he remembers. Haven't seen any interviews with him where this has been brought up.

It's still funny. It's two guys poking tiny little holes at kayfabe. True Shakespearean moments.

Fell asleep behind the wheel supposedly. Whippleman was seriously injured as well, so it's not clear how much he remembers. Haven't seen any interviews with him where this has been brought up. Briefly brought up on WWF Timeline 1994 by Sean Waltman. Just that Vince started getting criticized for the strenuous work schedule the guys had to work under. Gorilla lost his steam right when he died and hadn't been the same however, Kevin Nash said that his father no-sold everything including his son's death. Joey liked to party with the boys but Sean didn't think that was a factor in his death.

Is there a written summary available? I'm not a podcast guy.
