Suspended Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon was arrested on marijuana possession charges Wednesday night. Why is it that the NFL seems to be the far and away leader in complete f***ing dumbassery? The NHL, MLB and NBA combined don't seem to have the number of offseason arrests

The NHL, MLB and NBA combined don't seem to have the number of offseason arrests To be fair their offseason is 2/3rds of a year and their rosters are twice as large per team as any other league, but yeah it does seem that way the past few years doesn't it.

My honest opinion?
They end up with the longest time to get in trouble. Seems like 2/3rds of the year is spent working out at home and trying to stay out of trouble.
I'm not advocating a longer season, my god no. I just think most dudes that hit people for a living aren't normally content sitting at home and working out in private from Jan-August.
If I was 24 years old, got paid a million a year and was in my physical prime... holy shit man. Even boring old me would have probably found a way to get in trouble.

You can Shoryuken your fiancee and only get two games? Goodell is getting soft. Getting soft? He's always been soft. Don't buy into the myth. The biggest lie ever perpetrated by Peter King, Chris Berman, and the rest of the Goodell lap dogs in the national sports media is that Goodell is this heartless enforcer. It's all garbage. He cares about is whatever lines the pockets of the 32 owners. If losing Ray Rice for a season adversely affects the image of the NFL and it costs the league money, of course he won't do it, even if it is the right thing to do. Kirk Minihane did an on-air apology today... and then immediately followed it up by saying if Andrews was "15 lbs heavier she would be a waitress" The show he's on is hosted by a couple of douchebags. Not at all shocked. What's unfortunate is that their morning counterparts on The Sports Hub suck even worse. I would prefer static or white noise over having to listen to either program.

I will agree that you have to be a real dumbass to fail any NFL drug test. Does anyone really think that virtually no one in the NFL is on PEDs or weed? Peyton Manning maybe? Some of those guys? They're at least on painkillers of some type or another though.

They're at least on painkillers of some type or another though. For sure there are some guys that aren't really on anything, but I'd guess that the majority of the league is on something or another. Painkillers are a whole other story because half of the time the announcers will talk about guys getting painkiller shots before games or at halftime or something. I would think that the NFL would try to keep that quiet, but apparently not.

FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo reports suspended WR Josh Gordon checked into rehab following his arrest for DWI earlier this month.

It just irritates the crap outta me that ex-players who are announcers now can't say 'NFL'. They always have to say 'The National Football League'.
"Peyton Manning is a great player in The National Football League. He might get back to the The National Football League's Super Bowl, but can he overcome the best team in the The National Football League's NFC? And his father played in The National Football League, and his brother also plays in The National Football League."
