Kirk Minihane did an on-air apology today... and then immediately followed it up by saying if Andrews was "15 lbs heavier she would be a waitress" The show he's on is hosted by a couple of douchebags. Not at all shocked. Thank God that Toucher & Rich are wiping the floor with these guys.

So a Browns fan pissed on Art Modell's grave While it is indeed a dickhead thing to do, something tells me that Art doesn't care at this point.

49ers OLB Aldon Smith will fly to New York to meet with Roger Goodell regarding potential league discipline "in the near future."

Free agent QB Kyle Orton doesn't plan to retire and wants to play this season. He masterfully played Jerry Jones. Good for him. For what purpose, though. Does he think he can compete for the starting job at Arizona?

I think he is fine with being a backup and there was no chance of that in Dallas with them having 4 or 5 QBs once the draft ended, including Weeden who they traded for. It seemed they wanted him to go into camp and basically teach Weeden and the others the system before dumping him and he knew it so he pulled the retirement stunt and forced his way out so he could catch on in camp.

I think Orton is in a great spot. He'll sit at home, stay in shape and the first team with a QB that goes down will call him within 20 minutes.

Jesus Christ; guys have done way less and gotten way worse punishments than this. I mean, a WHOLE 2 games? 58,000 WHOLE dollars? C'mon, man. Beat up your fiancé and get a slap on the wrist, smoke pot and the league will have your head on a spike.

Beat up your fiancé and get a slap on the wrist, smoke pot and the league will have your head on a spike. All they did was save a step on this. They could have given him 4, goes to appeal knocked down to 2. Just saved about 2 months. Also I'm not going to get into the whole should or should not pot be legal in the NFL or elsewhere discussion, but if you are bringing up Josh Gordon (the idiot) then it's a very bad comparison. Purpose of the scaling penalty system is to try to keep people from being morons outside the game. He continually chose to be one, that's why he's gone for a year. Counting the 2 colleges he got thrown out of and the 3 tests he's failed, the dude has 6 failed tests (or drug related incidents). Since 2010. So I'm sorry it's not as simple as pot/vs. beat your old lady. Do I think much of Ray Rice as a human being now, hell no, I think he's scum for hitting a woman. Unfortunately when it comes to NFL penalties it's not based off of public perception, alot of it is based off repeat offenses.

Yep. It's total BS. I don't want him playing for my team anymore. He's not even any good these days. I get offering second chances, but there's a big difference between someone who abuses drugs on their own time and someone who injures another person.

Eh, I don't care about the legal question. Knocking a chick out is way more ethically wrong than smoking weed.
No one disagrees with that of course, but you think that'd play a role in punishment, repeat offender or know.
If Rice repeated, he might unintentionally cripple or kill her.

Wasn't there some video of Rice dragging her around or something? The fact that there is video evidence should definitely warrant a longer suspension.

Seriously though, to even fail a NFL test for illegal drugs you have to be a few marbles short upstairs. You get tested once in the offseason and you know when it's coming ahead of time. (pot, coke, all those things Nancy Reagan told you were bad for you). If you can't keep it under control to pass that test you've got issues anyway. It's only when you fail the complete moron test in the offseason, that they start with the random testing with the escalating penalties.
So again what type of brain surgeon fails that initial yearly test to begin with. Seriously if you are failing your 2nd or 3rd test (considering you couldn't get through the idiot proof first one) what do they do with you....keep slapping you on the wrist?

This makes zero sense to me. I live a straight edge lifestyle but at the worst, smoking pot is going to kill a few brain cells (unless you're playing or driving under the influence). Ray Rice actually causes harm to another human being but that's somehow not as bad. I know it comes down to collective bargaining but it still doesn't make much sense. If you're a repeat offender of the NFL's drug policy, then you deserve what you get. I just don't get how the first offense for that is somehow worse than beating the crap out of your wife.

Your first offense for pot there is no penalty it just gets you into the random testing program. That's why I personally call those that are getting suspended for pot morons. You know when the yearly pot test is coming, if you fail it what else is there to call you. Also just saw that CB Aaron Ross just tore his ACL and is out for the year....more of a depth signing but it still sucks to lose DBs in this league right now.

I was going to talk about Reggie Wayne coming to training camp in an IndyCar, but most of what happened yesterday depressed me.

I will agree that you have to be a real dumbass to fail any NFL drug test. Does anyone really think that virtually no one in the NFL is on PEDs or weed?

Speaking Thursday, Vikings coach Mike Zimmer confirmed Matt Cassel is the team's No. 1 quarterback heading into camp.
And speaking of dumb asses
Suspended Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon was arrested on marijuana possession charges Wednesday night.
