Could a wrestler without flashy moves work today or will they just be called 'boring' and 'limited' by audiences?
Really what I'm wondering is if they could have another guy like Andre The Giant or King Kong Bundy who have very simple big man offense, or even a guy like Jake Roberts or Ric Flair who are more about storytelling than cool moves. Seems like everyone has about 5 over the top moves that sometimes look as effective or better than their finisher just so the crowd doesn't fall asleep.

Does Bray Wyatt do flashy moves?
Hell, does the majority of the roster have flashy moves?

Does Bray Wyatt do flashy moves? Hell, does the majority of the roster have flashy moves? Seriously, for as good as WWE matches are these days, there are a lot of punches, a lot of splashes, a lot of very simple moves in general. The psychology is just good enough to make people excited for simple moves.

Does Bray Wyatt do flashy moves? Hell, does the majority of the roster have flashy moves? He has a uranage slam (similar to the Rock Bottom or Chokeslam) running crossbody (similar to Brodus Clay's crossbody), that new face into the knee move (Similar to GTS), all could be used as finishing moves.

How do we define flashy here? Because I think there are a lot of wrestlers without flashy moves who are successful, but my definition of flashy may differ.

I wouldn't call any except the urange slam(When done quickly) particularly flashy.

I wouldn't call any except the urange slam(When done quickly) particularly flashy. Not flashy would be a simple clothesline or shoulder block, scoop slams, neckbreakers, etc. Flashy moves are all obviously done to impress the crowd or give some sort of belief that the move will beat someone.

Depends on your definition of flashy, but some of the guys use pretty bread-and-butter moves to good effect. Rowan, for instance, does a good job with a pretty limited moveset in comparison with Luke.

I dare say Triple H. Most of his offense was very old-school, sans the Pedigree.

I think so, but I do think they have to be able to actually keep pace with everyone. I think The Wyatts is a good example of that.

Yeah, but it takes a certain kind of talent at storytelling to pull off. When wrestlers get more seasoned, they figure out what moves work best for them and which ones don't.

Barrett is not particularly flashy in his offense. The flashiest of his moves probably being the Blackhole Slam or the Bullhammer.

Damien Sandow isn't flashy at all in the ring, and he still amanged to work really well as a heel that got heat but wasn't boring. Before...you know...

Surprised I'm the first one to mention him: Dean Ambrose. Except for the occasional dive, he's got nothing really flashy.

But before, when the Shield were heels, he definitely fit the profile.
