Hulu has a sneak preview of the new NBC show A to Z. It was pretty good - A more intelligent Phillip J. Fry falls for adult Mabel Pines.

The TV season officially began last week. Some notes:
ABC easily had its best Thursday in a long time. Scandal hit a series high, and How To Get Away With Murder is the top new show so far.
Black-ish did very well in the post-Modern Family slot.
Scorpion on CBS and Gotham on FOX also had strong debuts.
The Mysteries of Laura on NBC skews old. Looks like they have another Harry's Law on their hands.
FOX Tuesdays are a mess.

F***ing CW had to technically create a schedule conflict for me. CW affiliate in New Orleans airs the CW shows an hour later, so The Flash will be on at the same time as Agents of SHIELD here. F***! Well this is one instance where I'd call DC the winner, qualitywise... /Bring on Firestorm!

If Constantine lives up to its trailer, just holy crap. The character looks like the comic which is a huge plus and I really look forward to this one hands down I forgot about this...so DC will have a property on each major network if the Supergirl pilot is accepted. All but the obvious one. This is actually a good strategy on their part, not sticking with their parent channels only. Now why can't we get people with GOOD ideas in their movie division?!!?

So, what's gonna be the first cancelled show of the season?
I'm hoping it's Stalkers.

You know, I have that strange feeling that Community isn't dead. Sure, it might have been cancelled by NBC, but I don't think the show is completely done yet. I think they're still going to get that sixth season (via Netflix or Hulu) and then Kickstarter for the movie like Veronica Mars did. preach!!!

Resurrection, Blackish, or Mullaney Though knowing my luck, my new favorite show will get the axe (Scorpion) It just might be. I loved The Defenders, the mid-season show featuring Jim Belushi and Jerry O'Connell as partners in a defense attorney law firm. It got cancelled by CBS after one season. I don't blame them for doing it, but if it had been any other network they would have been quite pleased with the ratings. Despite the fact that it was moved around a lot, it still had a decent number of viewers. It just did not have enough viewers for CBS, who knew they could get more viewers by replacing the show. On any other network those numbers would have gotten it renewed, even if the 18-49 numbers were not great.

CBS has ordered full seasons of NCIS: New Orleans What? CBS is happy with the highest rated new show on TV this season? I'm shocked! Actually, I am shocked. I'm shocked that it did not start out with a full season ordered from the word go.

Actually How To Get Away With Murder is the top new show of the season, but NCIS: NO is up there.
NBC has ordered a full season of The Mysteries Of Laura.

CBS has ordered full seasons of Madam Secretary, NCIS: New Orleans, Scorpion, and Stalker. Scorpion is an interesting show, I've gotta say.
