Ladd is a dirty player who purposely injured Roloson in Game 1 to win the Stanley Cup. With that being said he's one of my favorite players. But Winnipeg they are going to be dangerous in the playoffs. They are built like the mini Kings in my opinion. Just more scoring instead of having an elite goalie. Also Jesus Christ LA you just beat Edmonton 8-2 few days ago and you lose when it matters the most? I forgot he was on Carolina. I hated Carolina back then. And Roli was on a tear that post-season. But watching it on YouTube, that's not on Ladd at all. He got checked really hard from behind. The Jets remind me of the Blues before they had a lot of offensive talent. They play really hard and very disciplined. And they lose close games because they're not there yet and they don't have the offensive players to make the difference. The Blues were there. They didn't have Tarasenko or Steen, even Schwartz or Statsny (even though he's a disappointment). Once Truba and Schiefle and others come into their own, Winnepeg will be a contender. But right now, they're a gritty team and a lot of their team plays over the borderline. And they hit CONSTANTLY. Anyone who watches their games know the team goes out of it's way to hit whenever they can. But they started two fights with the Blues in one game over clean hits. Play tough, great. But take those hits back too. Just don't be the Bruins. Don't play dirty and just start stuff because you're salty. DON'T TRY CHANGE MY BLIND BIAS! I'M AWARE MARC ANDRE BERGERON CHECKED LADD INTO ROLOSON BUT IT'S f***ING LADD'S FAULT! I CAN'T ACCEPT MAB COMMITTED A BIGGER PLAYOFF OILERS DEFENSEMAN SIN THEN STEVE SMITH! That's why I think Winnipeg can do some real damage in the playoffs if they get really good goaltending from Pavelic or Hutchinson. They are one of the biggest teams in the league and they f***ing hit a lot like LA. Big teams that are built and play like a tank are teams that are built to survive the playoff grind and hurt the others. I don't know anything about this year. This year has been the year of parity. Like almost every team this year is a playoff contender in any other year but this year. Like the record of highest amount of points of a non playoff team was 95 points during the 07-08 season. We could see that record broken twice this year by a 99 point team in the East and LA not making it with 97 points. The Art Ross has been a toss up this entire season and it came down to the wire. The Calder trophy can go to four people and Matt Stone from Ottawa can win it for the way he's carrying the team and tying Alfredson's rookie season points. Carey Price wasn't even the consistent Hart trophy candidate this year, Pekka Rinne dominated the first half of the season. Minnesota just completed a miracle run to get in the playoffs where they had a 7% chance of making it to the playoffs before acquiring Dubnyk. If Ottawa makes it to the playoffs this year it would be the greatest season turn around upset ever with the unlikeliest story of their 4th string goalie dominating the NHL. The Rangers out of nowhere became the Presidents Trophy winners out of f***ing nowhere. No team was safe of holding their lead and not fighting for a playoff spot this year. Except for Montreal and Anaheim and those two teams are considered the two worst best teams this year. With Price being the only reason why Montreal is doing so well being 4th last in goals and in one of the top teams in allowing shots against and Anaheim winning a billion games by one point. Columbus is the hottest f***ing team right now and it would of been possibly a playoff team in any other year or if they didn't have a billion injuries this year. This is the closest we may ever see of a pure parity league we're ever going to get and next year almost every team has a real chance of making it to the playoffs and being a contender. Except for Edmonton. They are the one shitty ugly constant. #firelowe

Except for Edmonton. They are the one shitty ugly constant. #firelowe I disagree. LA is built a lot like them, but they got timely offense. Carter stepped up some, Justin Williams is clutch, Gaborik played out of his mind, etc. And that team had an All-World goalie. Pavelec is super inconsistent, and when he's off he's one of the worst goalies in the league. Hutchinson is better, but the wheels have fallen off of his game in the wind half. They have one of the worst goaltending situations out of all the playoff teams. And their offense is going to get destroyed in the playoffs. I compare them to the 09 Blues who played tough and made the playoffs with questionable Chris Mason winning the goaltending job at the end of the year. He looked overmatched in the playoffs. Our offense was even worse and scored 5 goals in a 4 game sweep. The game tightens up exponentially in the playoffs. They have a tough time breaking through in close, low-scoring games. That's going to be highlighted in the playoffs. They have to pray that guy's like Wheeler and Little step their game up, otherwise they'll never be in the series.

I just realized Alain Vigneault won his 3rd Presidents Trophy in 5 years and been in 2 Stanley Cup Finals. Also that 2011 Vancouver Canucks team was one of the best teams ever (despite how douchey and dirty they were) but they were like the only team I can remember being #1 in PP, PK, GF, and GA.

The West is stacked, but the East is kind of a crapshoot. Who does everyone have taking it? I'd like Tampa if Bishop was in the form he was last year. I really like the way the Red Wings look. Nyquist and Tatar are both looking dangerous this year, and I've always liked Howard in the playoffs. Terribly underrated. He almost eliminated the Blackhawks single-handedly a couple years ago.

In the west I have a feeling Minnesota and Chicago will do the most amount of damage and are the favorites to win it in the west. St. Louis is a safe choice that could go either way. The darkhorse team is Winnipeg for me. I have a feeling Chicago winning the west because the playoffs are just going to grind Dubnyk out if they don't rest him for the final two games plus Chicago and their experience. For the East I have NYR and Tampa Bay as the favorites to win it in the East and do the most amount of damage. Washington is the safe that could go either way. And my darkhorse team of the East is the NYI. History always have shown teams heading with crappy momentum in the playoffs do a lot of damage and NYI has crappy momentum. Overall I see NYR winning the cup so far this year and it'll probably be a NYR vs. Chicago finals. Or NYR vs. Minnesota in the finals. For some reason I see NYR beating Chicago but not beating Minnesota.

I'm a Blues fan, so I'm used to post-season disappointment. But I like our chances outside of Chicago and Anaheim. Chicago is just SO clutch and their scoring is so deep. They're hard for any team to eliminate, but they just seem to have our number lately. And Anaheim is just really good. They're one of, if not the best, shorthanded team in the league. And on the PP, with Getz and Perry and Kesler and Silfverberg is coming into his own. They're really good.
I could only see NY ever beating Chicago if King Henrik were in his top game (which I don't think he is anymore) or if Kane came back and wasn't himself. Chicago is just a better post-season team until proven otherwise.
Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't think Minnesota is dangerous at all.

Minnesota is one of the best possession teams in the league and allow the fewest shots out of any team. It was amazing how bad their goaltending was at the first half of the season like they were Oilers goalie levels of bad maybe even worse. They just needed an average goalie to be a playoff team all season. I'm not saying Dubnyk isn't average at all I always thought he was good like he had respectable numbers and great save percentages in edmonton the worst defensive team for half of a decade and always allowing the most shots in net. Plus they have tons of goal scoring depth with dissapointing players in the regular season waking up in the post season. But if Patrick Kane makes it back in the lineup by round one. Everyone is f***ed. Patrick Kane was having a career year before breaking his collarbone

And as crazy as it sounds, it may be time to get rid of either Crosby or Malkin. That'll make the team worse. You can never have too much center depth. Like who would be the #2 center Brendan Sutter? Get rid of Letang if you're going to get rid of a big contract player. Plus Pittsburgh had way too many injuries and mumps this year and for some reason they are in an absurdity comically low goal scoring percentage since last month. It was like at 4.8% for the entire team like that's just ludacrious. Also like I said this year almost every team that isn't the Oilers, Leafs, Coyotes, Sabers, Devils is a playoff team every other season but this one. Like there's a good chance a 97+ point team isn't going to make it to the playoffs this year. That's absurd. The LA Kings won the cup with 95 points. A 7th seeded 88 points Flyers made it to the cup finals. Overreacting is the worst thing a team can do. It's like when every season people say trade Ovechkin but Washington seems to do fine every season and he's clearly not the problem. They recovered from last season. All it took was firing Oates and getting Trotz. Over reactions can cause things for the worse like when Vancouver fired AV and replaced him with Tortz. How's AV doing these days? What's Trotz up too? How did Vancouver went from a powerhouse to rebuilding in one season because of Trotz? How did they end up both losing Schneider and Luongo?

So in the west under this stupid playoff format what would be the 6th seed is going to play the 8th seed in the first round because WEDNESDAY NIGHT RIVALRY Yup we're going to see two power house Stanley Cup contenders of either Nashville, St. Louis, Chicago face each other in the first round with one of them guaranteed to get eliminated while we get at least one weak Pacific Division team of Vancouver, Calgary, or LA guaranteeing to make it past the first round. I really hope this format is done by the end of this season. Like how the f*** is that fair?

But most of the time teams let their star players only play like 10 minutes a game so they are still in playing shape and have game intensity and let the depth guys shine instead. Unless they are using the time to let nagging injuries heal up then it's very unusual. The other theory is the Rangers are scouting Ottawa as a first round match up and don't want to give up any strategy that Ottawa can use in the playoffs and see how well they can match up with them without their star players.

And the fun of the Eastern conference wild card continues:
Ottawa, with a 3-0 win at MSG, moves to 97 points and the 1st wild card with 1 to play Pittsburgh, idle, is at 96 points and holds the ROW tiebreaker over both Ottawa and Boston Boston, losing 4-2 to the Panthers, holds at 95 points and is currently on the outside looking in
Also in the East, the Islanders and Red Wings both clinch playoff spots.
