Stripping him of the title makes the most sense. The mental gymnastics people are pulling just to have their guy remain at the top is amusing. The dude just had neck surgery, his health should have priority over his title run.

If his heath is not majorly affected, he can easily win the title back and his WrestleMania moment is forever cemented. I think the reason people are trying to be so protective though is that we had a near 10 month build to his title run that, with it's ending, feels like a fantastic story (even if it ended up a fluke due to Batista being rejected) and it's being cut short with only a title defence against Kane and then this. People don't want this whole year to be a waste.

Yeah, it's all about how long he's going to be out. 2 months is a little too long, but they just built that really long story to get him the title. So, it may be worth it to mess around through 2 months if his prognosis is good. One thing I'm worried about though, if Bryan keeps the title while injured and he HAS to defend at Summerslam or something, he might go too hard on rehab and get hurt again, or rush back and not be 100%. It sucks for Bryan, it sucks for WWE, but it happened and they all need to deal with it. Stripping him of the title might be the move. But, I really like the idea of an interim champion that has to wrestle Bryan when he's healthy to unify the belts. It would be a unique situation for WWE, give Bryan an open-ended schedule for his return, they could give someone new the ball for a bit and see how it goes (or just give it to Cena), and they're guaranteed a big match out of it.

I like how they're milking this right now.
