I'm guessing whatever site is crediting PWInsider missed the "until" part of "it's not expected she will return until after."

Playing the part of AJ Lee will now fall to the newest WWE signee, AJ Styles.

Brian Bayless at Scott Keith's website posted this news blurb a few hours ago, so either this is a member-only update or an error on their part.

I hope AJ returns. I truly believe her and Paige can work together and create the same magic that Lita vs Trish brought....ok, maybe not but pretty damn close.
And if she really is leaving, without any acknowledgement to her fans, well I guess her and Punk really are a perfect match for one another.

I'm actually really looking forward to a *real* program/match between Paige and AJ, a rare thing with the Diva's division, so i hope this is untrue.

If true I doubt we ever see another diva get pushed that hard again. This. AJ got the women's version of the Lesnar push and if this is true, you can understand WWE never giving anyone a push. They all leave whenever it suits them. You can say it's karma for the way WWE generally treats it's people but you can understand their hesitance to truly get behind people. That's such a lame, defeatist, bullshit way to go about things though. If they really want to push someone, "she/he might leave though!" shouldn't have anything to do with it. It's all a crapshoot, no need to try to plan against such things.

Unless something more concrete emerges, I'm guessing someone just read the PWInsider story people have quoted, didn't notice the 'until' and got all excited. Nothing to see here.
Also, when do these AJ lovers vs AJ haters flamewars everyone jokes about in threads like this actually occur? Every controversial post related to 'forum sweethearts' like AJ and Paige always have people going 'ooh, wait til the fanboys get a load of this. Shit's about to go DOWN!' and thus follows a perfectly reasonable and proportionate discussion with everyone getting along. This is easily the most mild-mannered wrestling forum on the internet and all the better for it.

There's no winning, you waste time, you get mad, you look like a douche, there's no good in it. The "batton down the hatches HERE COMES THE AJ FANS!" jokes are snarky, but they also serve as reminders of our sordid past involving lovely, talented women like Mickie James and Melina. I'd rather have the jokes than the actual arguing/meltdowns. The jokes, however, can start arguments at times as well (I know this from similar situations in Miz threads).

On a related note, since it apparently will take longer than anticipated for AJ to return, I shall restate my case for WWE booking Emma vs Paige . Whatever your feeling in their gimmicks, there is no denying the quality of their work together in NXT and other than AJ I can think of no better opponent for a long program with Paige.

I think the fear of AJ leaving is legitimate, considering she accomplished a lot. And there's the Punk factor too.
I also feel like the longer she's away, the less likely her return will go well or be booked that well. I hope I'm wrong though.

If she's happy, more power to her.
The 'life-long dream' thing is a lil unfair. Sometimes you get what you wanted, or thought you wanted, and it's not what you thought it would be.

A quick Google search shows me that she won't be returning until *after* her wedding with Punk.
And of that note, I wasn't even celebrating when I saw the title. Wonder what was up with that?

I'd rather have the jokes than the actual arguing/meltdowns. The jokes, however, can start arguments at times as well (I know this from similar situations in Miz threads). 'Ah, I remember the great 'Mickie James has put on weight' flamewar of '09. We lost some of our best members that day. Never again.' 'On February 21st 2010 someone implied Melina was a whore. In the ensuing 26 pages, 12 bans were issued and 4 people vowed to never post again (they all posted the next day, of course, but the intent was there). Lest we forget' In all seriousness though, it's good people have learned. Agreeing to disagree is in very short supply on the internet so this place is something of an exception to the rule. The sheer trolls-to-reasonable-people ratio of the internet makes it something of a novelty to find a forum where people generally behave themselves.

I just want her back to eventually be on Total Divas so we can get random CM Punk on there. The confrontations are endless.... Punk vs Vinnie, Punk vs Jonathon, Punk vs Flat No. Which reminds me I wanna see a Daniel Bryan face off with Flat No. Yes! Flat No! Yes! Flat No! Yes! Flat No!
